Seascape (Dartmouth) is a well-loved cottage praised for its stunning views, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate its proximity to Dartmouth, despite the steep access. The property's cleanliness and maintenance receive mixed feedback, but the overall experience is highly regarded, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property generally receives positive remarks on cleanliness, with most guests finding it immaculate. However, a few noted areas needing more thorough cleaning, such as behind beds and cobwebs on windows, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its outstanding views and proximity to Dartmouth, despite the steep climb. The challenging access is noted, but it does not significantly detract from the guests' enjoyment.
Guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the well-furnished living areas. Some concerns about heating and seating arrangements are noted but are minor compared to the overall comfort experienced.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-stocked kitchen and essential equipment. However, maintenance issues such as lukewarm showers, mould, and non-functional extractor fans lead to a slightly lower score.
While some guests mention the lack of a welcome pack and basic household items, there is not enough consistent information on thoughtfulness aspects such as gifts to accurately score this category.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. The overall cleanliness was very good particularly things like towels and bedding although there was a stain on my duvet which I didnât know until I stripped the bed before we left. Some kitchen utensils were unusable because they were caked with burnt on grease And we didnât use the cooker because the filter in the hood was filthy. It was rather chilly in the evenings and there was central heating. I couldnât find any advice or instructions on how to operate it. Fortunately, I have Hive at home so I managed to get the heating system up and running However, there is one radiator valve in the front bedroom that I could not Work out how to operate. Parking is an issue although we were able to park outside for unloading and loading on the final day it was an inconvenience having to park in the main town car park. The property details mention it being a short walk of 10 minutes or so down into the town and whilst this might be true coming back up from the town is a different matter. basically you have to choose between a very long flight of steps or a short Hill that must be about 45° at least !!. I ended up needing to use my car to drive my wife and elderly dog back up to the house and then return to the car park and then walk back up myself. On one occasion, I did have to stop and gather my breath. I would mention that we are both in our 70s and although reasonably mobile this was really too much. I donât think the house is at all suitable. 70s and although reasonably mobile this was really too much. I donât think the house is at suitable for anyone with mobility issues unless driven up there in a vehicle. For this reason I donât think we would ever return there and Iâm glad that we were only there for a few days. Thank goodness the weather was good and we were out and about every day.

We love the layout and comfort of the house for our family of four with two teenagers. The house is well equipped with everything you could need. The views are stunning from the sitting room, the main bedroom and the terrace. We were so sad to leave and will definitely book again. Thank you to the owners and Coast and Country Cottages.

) The view out front overlooking the River Dart is pretty special. We really enjoyed our stay here but found it a shame that some maintenance around the property is left wanting. The front fascia, terrace and patio furniture need attention along with some of the fixtures and fittings throughout the property. Parking down in the town wasnât too much of an issue for us during our stay in May (apart from the walk) but the car park was generally fairly busy, and I would imagine it could be more of an issue in high season. I would like to recommend Sykes but have had to knock off some points due to their unfortunate association with B Corp.
