Guests say

Woodbine House in Dartmouth offers stunning views and a unique upside-down layout that guests find delightful. The property's location is a favourite for families, providing easy access to local attractions and beautiful sunsets from the balcony. While some guests have noted areas in need of improvement, the house's charm and the surprise of unlisted amenities like a TV in the lounge have been appreciated.

Guests have reported cleanliness issues such as dirty windows, a balcony in need of cleaning, and patio furniture covered with mould. The presence of mould in the shower tray and on the balustrade glass also suggests attention to detail is required.

The property's location is highly praised for its amazing views and proximity to Dartmouth and Paignton. Guests enjoy the local area and find the setting ideal for exploring and relaxing, despite some challenges with parking and narrow roads.

The house's comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests mentioning comfy beds and a spacious layout. However, there are suggestions for safety improvements and the addition of a full-length mirror.

Several guests have noted issues with facilities and maintenance, including non-working lights, a broken washing machine, and outdated property details. The need for oven gloves and an ironing board cover replacement also indicates room for improvement.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

We love Woodbine House, having visited on numerous occasions.Unfortunately we found it tired & in need of some TLC.The disappointments included, double glazing blown & in need of replacement.Various lights, including stair lights not working. Washing machine not working. Windows dirty, & covered with children’s finger marks. Broken blind. Balustrade glass dirty with green mould. Balcony in serious need of cleaning, (slippery when wet)Wardrobe doors loose. No oven gloves, ironing board cover needs replacing. Shower tray needs mould removing.Outside patio area was dirty & the patio set was dirty with green mould. Last, & by no means least, only 3 teaspoons.O Yes, the welcome book with the property details was woefully out of date, with the wrong internet password.Woodbine house used to be a platinum property. We can see why it no longer is so. Such a shame.

Kingswear has become a family favourite. And this cottage is stunning and perfect location so explore Dartmouth and Paignton. Amazing views. Relaxing apartment. Huge bathroom. Lovely balcony. To watch Dartmouth from and enjoy the sunset. Unles your vehicle is small - I wouldnt do the narrow road though :-) Love every minute.

We loved our stay here, beautiful views and really fun house with the living room upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. We had two young girls with us who loved the house too and watching the train and boats from the balcony. Lovely spacious house, tv in lounge wasnt listed so that was a nice surprise for relaxing evenings when kids in bed! Comfy beds, large clean bathroom. Could do with a full length mirror :) Some things could do with being made safer eg attach heavy furniture to walls so it cant tip, and hooks for blinds pull cords so theyre not dangling onto floor (strangulation risk). Towels were included which was great as the listing said theyre not, also dishwasher was nice. House is on a steep hill hence the lovely views from it! And the road is tight, all this is explained well in the description. There was a playground not too far away, easy to walk to train or ferry boat to Dartmouth town. Easy drive to Paignton for the beach. Would stay here again. Mis it already!
