Marina Lodge in Kingswear is highly praised for its stunning views and prime location, offering easy access to local transport and attractions. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property and the efficient service provided by the letting agents. While some minor maintenance issues and the additional cost of parking are noted, the overall experience is one of comfort and relaxation, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The property is generally described as clean, with no specific complaints about cleanliness, suggesting a high standard is maintained.
The location is consistently lauded for its convenience to ferries, trains, and attractions, as well as for its exceptional views, making it a standout feature of the property.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with some noting the property is well-equipped and offers home comforts. However, there are remarks about the seating not being sufficient for six people and the main living area being cold until the fire warms up.
Facilities are generally good, with well-furnished rooms and essential equipment provided. Some guests mention issues with Wi-Fi, windows not opening, and the need for better heating, indicating room for improvement in maintenance.
While guests mention the provision of food in the cupboard and a day sack, there are no consistent references to gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.
This fabulous property, located in the heart of Kingswear 350 metres from the marina, is perfect for families or friends that are looking for a place where they can unwind yet take advantage of South Devon’s pretty coastal towns and attractions. Sleeping six over three bedrooms with space for the dog, there’s room for everyone here. There are two balconies to enjoy fantastic views of the marina; head out to the lower-floor balcony where you can sizzle up a BBQ, or nab the super-king-size room and take a private moment to enjoy the view with your morning coffee.
This wonderful holiday home has a welcoming feel with colour used tastefully throughout. Warm tones in the spacious farmhouse-style kitchen diner make it a pleasure to cook in, while the bold decor in the lounge invites you to curl up in front of the wood burner in the evenings but feels fresh enough to throw open the patio doors to the balcony in the day. Peaceful blue and white tones in the bathroom beckon you to indulge in a long soak in the bath with waterside views, but upstairs there’s a shower room for a quick rinse. The bedrooms are on this floor too; two super-king-size rooms and a double all benefit from calming pastel colours that help promote a great night’s sleep.
Hop over the river to Dartmouth (1 mile) to see the museum, castle or Blackpool Sands Beach. Climb aboard the ferry from the marina and take trips to Torquay (10.5 miles), Salcombe (20.5 miles) and Totnes (12 miles), or take the Dartmouth Steam Railway that takes you up to Paignton (8 miles by road) where the zoo and beaches are well worth a visit. Don’t forget Berry Head Nature Reserve (5.5 miles) for walks with the whole family.

Marina lodge is fantastic, stunning views without hundreds of steps to enter the property, which lots do have in the kingswear area. It’s warm and comfortable and very homely as a pet owner it was a joy our dog enjoyed immensely doing a bit of people (and dog) watching from the balcony. I can 100% recommended marina lodge to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in the simply stunning location by the River Dart my family will return again as we have done many times before.

Great cottage & great location
Mr Jones
Overall a good place to stay near Dartmouth, ideal for the ferry and links to the wider area. Two great pubs, Marina and steam train nearby. Place was clean, 3 Decent size rooms and well equipped. Letting agents very good. Few negatives: Balconies needed a good varnish, new furniture and balcony glass cleaned, good feature for amazing views but didn't feel i could use it. Shame really. Parking is very limited, but marina car park £10 for 24 hours and a 5 minute walk away. 2 keys would of been useful. Be careful with the lower Balcony, goes onto a flat roof with a 40 foot drop off. There are gaps in the balcony sides and below the glass for a small dog to escape, our chihuahua ended up stuck in the guttering and needed rescuing, just be cautious with small dogs and children. Enjoyed my two weeks here that's the main thing.
