There is lots of history and beautiful scenery to discover at any time of year in the historic wool town of Chudleigh, which is located in the Teignbridge District of Devon. In addition to historic beauties like the caverns at Rock and an Iron Age hillfort that overlooks the town, the town has a long history that dates back to Saxon times. Many place names from this era can still be found today. In addition, Chudleigh offers a wide choice of amenities to help with self-catering, including two pubs, an English restaurant, convenience stores, charming shops, and more. Between the communities of Dunsford in the north and Chudleigh in the south, on the eastern flank of the Dartmoor National Park, is the stunning steep valley known as the Teign Valley. Christow, Lower and Higher Ashton, Dunsford, and Hennock are idyllic vacation destinations with gorgeous thatched cottages and surrounding hills, fields, and rivers. With breathtaking vistas throughout, Chudleigh's surrounding area is a walker's paradise. If you have some extra energy, you might like to try your hand at rock climbing, go kayaking on the adjacent River Teign, go mountain biking, or go hiking in the area and nearby areas. Spend the day at Dawlish, a quaint seaside community with a number of family-friendly attractions and amusements. The Lawn and Brook is home to the renowned and majestic black swans. Spend a day exploring the historic town of Exeter, which is surrounded by beautiful City Walls, the magnificent Gothic cathedral, Exeter Castle, and numerous more sites that are just waiting to be explored. There is no better option than a trip to Chudleigh to see the beaches and countryside of Devon because of the easy entry into the Dartmoor National Park and the proximity to all the excitement of Newton Abbot, Torquay, and Paignton.

The results are amazing and we would give a 5 star rating for sure! Many thanks.

  • Alan

The reception staff on site are very friendly and helpful. The only downside which I have seen in other reviews is the toilet is so small that even children have difficulty in getting in and out. For health and safety reasons this needs to be looked at urgently !!! If anyone suffered any kind of emergency, no one would be able to get in through the door without using an electric saw. A simple solution would be to reverse the door hinges and wooden stays so that the door opened outwards.

A cork screw would have helped. Otherwise, would book again.
