Swanage Driftwood is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its ample space, well-equipped kitchen, and convenient location close to the beach and town amenities. Guests appreciate the property's suitability for large groups and families, with special mention of the utility room for storing beach gear. While some guests noted issues with maintenance and noise, the overall experience is seen as positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests finding it very clean upon arrival. However, there were isolated comments about a dirty oven, a smelly vacuum cleaner without a bag, and a sticky kitchen sink area, which slightly impacted the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the beach, shops, and restaurants, making it an ideal spot for guests. The central location contributes to a few remarks about noise from nearby pubs and the lack of parking, but the convenience is a standout feature.
Comfort is well-regarded, with guests mentioning comfortable beds and a spacious living area. Some guests, however, noted issues with hot water and heating, and the challenges faced by taller individuals with sloping ceilings and small bathrooms, which slightly detracts from the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally seen as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and utility room. However, there were several maintenance issues reported, such as boiler problems, a non-functional shower head, and a lack of certain kitchen items. These issues indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Guests have noted thoughtful touches such as children's toys, toiletries, and a welcome pack with scones and clotted cream. While these gifts are appreciated, it is important to note that such extras are subject to availability and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Swanage is a family seaside resort with a fine sandy beach, good choice of shops and numerous places to eat, all within walking distance of Swanage Driftwood.
Children will love building sandcastles, paddling in the sea, or crabbing along the water's edge at Peveril Point. Step back in time as you travel on the Swanage steam railway to Corfe Castle. Walk your dogs for miles on the headland, enjoy the stunning views, all less than two minutes from the front door.
It’s easy to venture further afield where you will be spoilt for choice, Corfe Castle – famous for Enid Blyton Stories, Studland for its beaches and heathland. Old Harry Rock’s, an iconic south coast land mark, and so much more all within a 30-minute drive of Swanage.
This house would suit a large family, group of friends or even two small families who want to explore South East Dorset.
The classic seaside resort of Swanage is right at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The town offers plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take a short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.

Itâs ideal for our family needs and so close to the town etc . We had a problem with the heating at first but the owner came to correct it straight away. Very happy

The welcome pack was lovely and it was personalised to acknowledge that we had stayed before. Just in case you were unaware the locks did not work on the bathroom doors downstairs and the little bathroom on the top floor, so maybe this could be fixed for future guests. This house is very special as is Swanage and we will definitely be back to enjoy it again!!
