Guests have enjoyed their stays at 6 Barnes Meadow, praising its spaciousness, modern amenities, and the beautiful walk to Lyme Regis. The property's kitchen is well-equipped, and the beds are comfortable. A welcome pack added a thoughtful touch. Some concerns were raised about garden maintenance and suitability for small children.
The property is generally described as clean and modern. However, one review mentioned cobwebs and an unclean outdoor area, slightly affecting the overall cleanliness perception.
The location is appreciated for its proximity to Lyme Regis and scenic walks, although some guests found the walk back up the hill challenging and the bus service unreliable.
The property is commended for its comfortable beds and spaciousness. However, concerns about the suitability for small children and the heat in the loft bedroom during hot weather slightly reduce the comfort score.
While the property is well-equipped, several reviews raised issues with garden maintenance, unsafe outdoor furniture, and plumbing noises. These factors suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
The welcome pack was well-received, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, guests should be aware that this is a delightful bonus when provided.

The house was spacious, comfortable beds, lovely kitchen with everything we needed. The walk to town along the river was beautiful and flat ish! However a couple of things we felt needed addressing. The house really isnât suitable for small children due to the stairs and garden. The garden really needs a tidy and the furniture & steps are unsafe. The top bedroom also needs a fan as the air conditioning didnât always work and it got so hot. But saying we still enjoyed our stay and Lyme Regis has everything for all ages and needs.

For the most part it was smart and well equipped with comfortable beds. A couple of issues to address are some very squeaky stairs meaning you can't go to bed quietly when others are sleeping, and for some reason the otherwise fine plumbing made horrible noises whenever the toilet in the main bathroom was flushed. Also my wife and I had the short straw getting the loft bedroom. After both banging our heads on the low ceiling, we moved the bed away from the wall to avoid repeats. Also with the hot water tank there, it was very hot. The large skylight window seemed like it would stay open when pushed out fully but we weren't sure so used creative ways to prop it open. Even with this, and the fan we brought, I was still sweating badly at night from the heat. Maybe it's much better in cooler weather. They say first impressions count, and my first was to see the listing where they specified relatively unusually harsh arrival and departure times and made it clear that guests shouldn't ask for any flexibility in this. Obviously, on the occasions when other guests are departing or arriving on the same day, they will not be able to offer much if anything. But to say that no matter how helpful or important a degree of flexibility would be and no matter how easy it would be to offer this, we don't even want you to ask. I've encountered this before in the very worst places I've stayed (of which this cottage was definitely not one) but everywhere else an attempt is made to help even if a charge is applied. Contrast this to the very generous and delicious welcome pack of local goodies, I concluded that the owners wanted to offer a good experience but entirely on their own terms. Given that all guests are different with different sets of needs, this is not best practice. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and we'd recommend it - I know this review talks more about the negatives, but during our stay we talked a lot more about the positives and this is meant as honest feedback on where there might be improvements. The property is within a couple of miles of the Lyme Regis beaches and there's plenty in the area to occupy an age range from one to 71!

Two grandparents with two daughters and two toddler grandchildren. The outside area ( garden , eating area ) were filthy, the grass hadnât been cut and the decking stairs were rotten. I had taken two bags of rubbish to the bin and my foot went straight through one of the steps causing a nasty injury. i phoned the company who were supposed to be maintaining the property and It took two days to make a repair and we couldnât use the back garden at all after that as we were worried one of the children may harm themselves. Also the wheelie bin was almost full when we arrived so we had to pile our rubbish on top. There were a lot of cobwebs in the top floor bedroom. The walk to the sea was much longer than we had expected and it was really tough coming back up the hill with the little ones so would definitely not stay there again.
