In the heart of the popular seaside resort of Lyme Regis, and only 250 yards from the seafront, this character Grade II listed Great House has been restored retaining many original features, and has been furnished and decorated to a very good standard. The Chatham is on three floors, so there are stairs to access the main living areas on the first floor, then stairs leading to a lower level. There are the most stunning views from the living, dining room (which seats eight guests) and terraced area, which is the perfect spot for wining and dining. Views stretch all the way down Chesil Beach and the Heritage Coast to Portland. Visitors can park, which is prime in Lyme Regis, in the outside gated courtyard.
From the doorstep, guests can be in the thriving heart of this picturesque town, with a short walk to the sandy beach and harbour, or spend pleasant evenings strolling along the famous Cobb taking in one of the many restaurants and pubs. The children will love the opportunity to do some fossil hunting, crabbing, boating, swimming or fishing, or for all the family wandering around the local shops in this quaint town. The whole of the famous World Heritage Coast beckons, from Exmouth to the west and Weymouth and Portland to the east, then visit West Bay, scene of the TV series ’Broadchurch’, the Craft Centre at Broadwindsor, many family attractions at Weymouth or perhaps some great scenic coastal walking, maybe to the top of Golden Cap with its panoramic views and a call into the local pub. Shops, pubs and restaurants within 50 yards.

An excellent location for a multi generational family group. Spacious, clean and comfortable ( apart from the living room sofas). Good access to the shops, cafes, beach and all other amenities by foot. Having dedicated parking for two vehicles in the centre of town was a real bonus. The raucous seagulls added some local flavour!

The property is in a great location, with access to the towns facilities and the beach. Being able to park at the property was a bonus too. Our overall experience of the property was good, however the rope banister on the second set of stairs up, made it difficult for some members of our group. The only other issue is the suits in the lounge which need replacing, as very uncomfortable. The bedrooms and showers were all good. The roof terrace was a real treat, as we spent most evenings eating and drinking there.

Great locations, 5 minutes walk to the beach, musuem, water milll, and other interesting places to visit. All rooms are well organised and cleaned. The parking is very convenient and easy to access. The house do have lots of stairs as described, but my kids love the layout and claimed that it is the most interesting and fun accomodation they have stayed. The view from the terrance is fabulous from morning to evening.For people have trouble sleeping, I would suggest to think twice, as the noises from seaguals are basically non-stop.It seems to be because there are many chicks on the flat roof next to the house and they’re hungry, loud, and often squabbling for food.Overall, we are very happy with the stay.
