Being Portland born and bred in know Nemo's cottage is a old Portland stone house. These can be bad for dampness, and this has bad damp in places. when you open the front door you can smell a fusty smell, and you can see flaking paint in a lot of rooms. The main room is the first floor bedroom on the front facing wall, the owner knows how bad it is as he has tried to cover this up by hanging a covering on the wall over it. which I have taken pictures off, along from other ones too. This is a health hazard to people with breathing problems. I was told by the owner that the wall between the first and second floor staircase needed painting. The fact the back wall needs stripping back and treated and repainted, as the plaster has blown and dead because of the dampness that caused it. I wanted to charge my tablet in the frontroom while sat there using it one night so pulled the sofa out to get to the plug behind and found stale and mouldy toast and other food under the sofa as well as cobwebs. This cottage needs a lot of damp proofing doing to it and replastering and painting too it, as the owner knows this, but still hires it out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage is in a great position, close to all amenities, and it was good that we had a parking place, because it would have been difficult, to park on the street, as what spaces there were, were used up quickly. Just one 'slight' negative - we could have done with more than 1 tea towel - we did use the dishwasher, but most days we washed up after ourselves.
