Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels included. Initial fuel for open fire included (not in summer). Welcome pack. External utility room with washing machine and toilet. Enclosed front garden with patio, Summerhouse,(closed in Winter as unheated), garden furniture and barbecue. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking or vaping. Please note: There are steps and a slope in the garden.. Rivendell is a detached bungalow with incredible views over the Severn Estuary. The property has a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, an open plan living/dining area with Freeview TV, and a cosy open fire. There is also a family bathroom and three bedrooms, comprising a single bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a master double bedroom. Outside you will find an enclosed garden with a lawn, flower beds, seating areas, and a Summerhouse (closed Nov to April inclusive as unheated) all on a level site. Access to a lower lawn with an orchard is down steps or a sloping grass path. A handrail is provided for use as necessary.

Walks can be had directly from the garden out into the forest. The Forest of Dean is bordered by the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the River Severn. In this compact area, there are outdoor activities in abundance including horse riding, golf, fishing, mountain biking trails from easy to extreme, canoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing. Wonderful walks with stunning scenery await you within the forest and the Wye Valley and every season has a beauty of its own.

Time your stay to coincide with the Severn Bore, one of the natural wonders of the world. There are numerous fun places to visit with attractions such as Go Ape, Puzzlewood, Mountain Biking routes from Easy to Extreme at Pedal-Bike-Away and a separate easy Family Trail, The Wye Valley for Water Sports and Rock Climbing, Clearwell Caves, and the Beechenhurst Sculpture Trail. It’s all about 10-20 minutes away. Chepstow, Goodrich Castles and Tintern Abbey are interesting historical sites for all ages about 30 minutes away.

Rivendell is near the top of Blakeney Hill and is accessed by a steep narrow road. but the property and top garden are on the level with just one small step up onto a gravelled path. Blakeney village is just a few minutes away by car. Amenities there include a post office/shop-newsagents, a general store, a pub, a fish and chip shop, a church, a bus stop, and surgery.

The cathedral city of Gloucester, Monmouth, and the pretty market town of Ross-on-Wye are all within a short drive. Regency Cheltenham and The Cotswolds, The Malvern Hills, The Cathedral City of Hereford (with the famous Mappa Mundi), Bristol and The Black Mountains of Wales are all near enough for a day out.

    Very well equipped bungalow in a quiet area with outstanding views. Owners were extremely helpful and we had everything we need for a great Pre Christmas trip.

    we had a very relaxing break, the forest is so close and great for walks without having to use the car. Lovely property with starter logs for the fire and a bottle of wine much appreciated. 10/10 happy holiday and a very happy dog .
