The property is set within the grounds of a private farm - as you drive down the private track surrounded by pastures you get a mix of pure relaxation and excitement for what awaits. If access for the less mobile is required, please advise the owners prior to arrival.
With an open plan living/dining room this social design is great for bringing everyone together, wine dine or chill it’s all catered for. A top of the range kitchen with feature electric range, great for whipping up culinary delights during your stay, accompanied with state-of-the-art appliances throughout. After dining, retreat to the cosy sitting room area, with projector to stream the latest movie releases. Outside, guests can enjoy the six-person hot tub, barbecue, fire pit, elevated patio, large walled garden so that all the fun is contained within your own private space.
Beyond your trendy Forest of Dean bolt hole, Wye Valley and the Welsh Border Country are easily accessible, as is Cheltenham with its races. Picturesque Cotswolds towns such as Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton on the Water and Burford, and many National Trust properties are all worth a visit, as well as lovely towns and villages such as Newent, Ross, Newham and Monmouth. If exploring and adventure is on the agenda, you are spoilt for choice with the Forest of Dean, Severn and Wye Valleys, Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds all on your doorstep. Perfectly located to enjoy a trip to the ancient cathedral and historic docks of Gloucester, and approximately half an hour’s drive from Cheltenham’s festivals and regency promenade for a spot of designer shopping and fine dining. There are excellent walks and mountain biking trails directly from the farm to May Hill and the surrounding area.
The Red Lion pub is just 5 minute’s walk, The Leaf café and garden centre 3-minute walk. May Hill brewery, Longhope bakery and Harts Barn craft centre just a 5-minute drive. There’s an outstanding restaurant and wet fish counter at Severn Wye smokery, Chaxhill (10-minute drive). Also, a private chef can be arranged from Harts Barn cookery school if required. It is also close to the International Centre for birds of prey and the Three Choirs Vineyard nearby for a spot of bird watching followed by some wine tasting. Within easy reach of the picturesque Wye Valley, including Tintern Abbey and Symonds Yat. Adrenalin junkies are well catered for too, in Gloucester you have the dry ski slope for a day of boarding or tobogganing, off road cycling and treetop rope adventures to be found within the Forest of Dean. Paddle boarding is a firm favourite and available at Gloucester Docks and the picturesque Symonds Yat on the Wye River.

Excellent location, reasonably clean and tidy, kitchen superbly equipped but other parts of the barn furniture just about acceptable (sofas poor quality, mattress seen better days as ripped) and therefore doesn’t justify the premium price point. Overall we would recommend the Go Cart Barn as there lots of positive features

We were a group of 10 and had a lovely stay at Go Cart Barn. However there are a few issues to feedback that would improve the experience for future guests:There was a strong intermittent sewage smell, which we think was from the drains. At times this was as strong inside the property as it was outside. There were no bath mats in the bathrooms.No doormat, which having arrived on a wet afternoon meant we had nowhere to wipe our feet. It was also a potential hazard on entering the house from the hot tub - wet feet and smooth tiles.There was rubbish down the side of the hot tub, assume from previous guests - between the tub and stone wall.The hot tub step was dangerous - it was bigger than the hot tub base so had been screwed down, which after use is now breaking around the screws and tipping when standing on the bottom step.There was very little toilet paper in some of the bathrooms, we had no issue with buying some, however we would have brought some with us had we known.There wasn’t hand wash in all of the bathrooms.For a luxury property I would have expected a doormat, bath mats, enough toilet paper and hand wash in all bathrooms. The hot tub area should be checked between guests, although you would hope that guests would clean up after themselves.

I booked this for a girls weekend away for 10 girls & we loved every second. The space was perfect, love the open plan areas and the outdoor space.The beds were super comfy and each bedroom was a really good size, with ensuites too.Gorgeous location for a fabulous weekend away.
