Oldfields is a substantial detached house with annexe resting near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, East Anglia. Sleeping up to 20 guests across six bedrooms and additional sofa beds and day beds, this impressive retreat is ideal for large family gatherings, celebrations, reunions, and group getaways, offering an excellent range of leisure facilities including a heated swimming pool, electric hot tub, games room, gym, sauna, and steam room. Upon entering the property, guests will discover a spacious interior designed for spending quality time together. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything needed for preparing meals for larger groups, including a dishwasher and washing machine, while the dining room offers seating for up to 20 guests, making it a wonderful setting for celebratory dinners and special occasions.
Two separate sitting rooms provide ample space to relax, socialise, or unwind after a day of exploration. The sleeping accommodation is arranged across the main house and annexe, offering flexibility for a variety of group configurations. The main house hosts five double bedrooms, including two with en-suite facilities and two with sofa beds for additional guests. A ground-floor double bedroom also benefits from a double sofa beds. Within the annexe, guests will find a double bedroom tucked into the eaves, along with a sofa bed on the ground floor. Please note that the annexe bedroom has restricted ceiling height and steep stairs and is suitable for adolescents only.
Outside, the extensive grounds provide plenty of room for guests to gather and enjoy the fresh air. Spend warmer days swimming in the heated pool, soak in the six-seater electric hot tub, enjoy drinks at the outdoor bar, dine alfresco with the barbecue, or challenge friends and family in the games room. The gym, sauna, and steam room further enhance the property's appeal, ensuring entertainment whatever the weather. A shop and pub can be found within easy reach, while nearby destinations include Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Ipswich, Cambridge, and Colchester. Admire the beautiful architecture of the town whilst visiting both its high street and independent stores, with abbey ruins and gardens, art galleries, Suffolk's only cathedral, and Moyse's Hall Museum to find too, offering something for all tastes. Visit the 200 acres of Nowton Park where you can walk amongst the landscaped lands of Suffolk's countryside, or take a trip to discover the beauty of Thetford Forest Park, spanning over 18,730 hectares, here you can find serene walking and cycling routes as well as attractions such as High Lodge, Lynford Stag, Lynford Arboretum, the Harling Woods and so much more.
