Seawall Cottage in Aldeburgh is praised for its superb location, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the private parking and the property's potential, noting its proximity to the sea, shops, and cafes. While some guests found the lounge furniture and kitchen chairs uncomfortable, the sunny garden and off-road parking are definite pluses. The property's cleanliness and maintenance received mixed reviews, with some guests suggesting improvements.
The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it clean with lovely touches like fresh flowers, while others noted areas that could benefit from more thorough cleaning, such as window sills and kitchen surfaces. Bedding protectors were mentioned as stained, suggesting room for improvement.
The location of the cottage is highly praised for being in the heart of Aldeburgh, close to shops, cafes, and the beach. The convenience of the location is a consistent positive throughout the reviews.
Comfort levels are varied among guests. The beds are generally considered comfortable, but some guests found the lounge and kitchen chairs uncomfortable. There were also comments about the firmness of pillows and difficulties with shower controls.
Facilities are well-regarded in terms of kitchen equipment and the inclusion of an electric car charger. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as stiff shower controls and loose toilet seats, indicating a need for attention to these areas.
Guests have noted thoughtful touches like vases of flowers and ice in the freezer. While these gestures are appreciated, it should be noted that such personal touches are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

Itâs a maximum two minute walk to the sea which means you can shower and get changed at the house after your morning swim. As itâs on the High Street thereâs an equally short stroll to the shops and cafes. All three bathrooms worked well with the two showers having very good water pressure. The kitchen easily accommodated six adults for meals and was well equipped. I really enjoyed the abundance of natural light in the sitting room. Two of the bedrooms were a little small and would have benefited from more wall and door hooks as they didnât have wardrobes but this really wasnât a problem for us. A washing line would have been perfect for drying the towels etc of six people as the aired provided wasnât quite big enough. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Parking space is a huge bonus. The property has everything we need for a comfortable stay. It is generally well maintained and everything works as it should. The only niggle is the smell in the downstairs toilet/shower which has been reported to Best of Suffolk. We have noticed this on other occasions when staying in the cottage but last Thursday it was particularly strong and unpleasant, affecting the whole of the property. Other than on Thursday it didnât spoil our enjoyment of the cottage and hopefully the owners will be able to resolve the problem. We are looking forward to returning to Seawall next year.
