Wheelwright's Barn in Suffolk offers a charming stay with its well-equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms, and a warm welcome, including thoughtful gifts. Guests enjoy the local wildlife and the property's proximity to various attractions. Some guests suggest the garden and exterior require maintenance, and clearer instructions for appliances would enhance the experience.
The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, though a few guests noted areas for improvement such as cobwebs and a patch of damp/mould. The majority did not raise significant cleanliness issues.
The location is praised for its proximity to local sights and the convenience for sightseeing. However, some guests noted difficulty in finding the property and concerns about road safety due to overgrown vegetation.
Guests find the property comfortable, particularly appreciating the warm atmosphere and the downstairs bedroom with an ensuite. However, comments about the need for better mattresses and natural light suggest room for improvement in comfort.
The property is well-equipped, but guests have mentioned the need for TLC, clearer instructions for appliances, and some maintenance issues like overgrown gardens and slippery paving slabs.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome gifts such as cake, milk, and prosecco. It's important to note that while these gestures are appreciated, they may not be a consistent offering for all stays.

Finding it was a little tricky as the 'orange' door is, in fact, dark green but the owners were very helpful. Although the weather was a bit wet, we got out for long walks every day and the dogs had a brilliant time (though tearing about on pebbly beaches took its toll on one of them). The Barn was cosy and well-equipped, having everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The 'library' on the landing had a fabulous selection of books as well as jigsaws.

The owner was very quick to respond to a query about the heating, and left some welcome gifts in the kitchen, so worth a stay

Beautiful furniture, character, it was spacious and had everything we needed. Super downstairs bedroom/ensuite for our elderly relative. Most suitable as a winter retreat. Sadly the outside space was a huge let down, overgrown covering windows, slippery steps, not secure for dogs and sadly not very nice to sit in. Barn is on busy road with no pavements, which was not clear. Lack of local footpaths without first walking along busy road. Overall, loved the barn inside, but wouldnât stay again.
