We had a lovely relaxed week at The Lantern Loft. It is a spacious and beautifully presented accommodation with everything we needed. Friendly, approachable but unobtrusive owners. Two very short flights of stairs from the entry hallway to the first floor. There were only two of us staying and so we just used the first floor which has an open plan lounge, kitchen, dining room, with a separate bedroom and ensuite (shower over bath). A lovely rear balcony with table and chairs and a real sun trap of an afternoon/evening. The windows are low level so inquisitive children would need firm boundaries!Up a further flight of stairs is a walk in shower /bathroom and two more bedrooms. The Lantern Loft is situated above a lovely gift and tea shop (and we did shop!). We did not hear noise from the shop or cafe/tea shop but when they are open a small rear courtyard is used for seating so if you are not out and about in the day you may experience some generally quiet chats from below. We did not find the chat noise intrusive. If you are in the front facing rooms you may hear some noise if delivery vans pull on to the gravel but it did not seem frequent.Parking passes were available once in the property and we used the village hall car park. There is a lovely deli and a great little village general store and 2 pubs in the village serving food, we enjoyed the Bell- but would recommend booking if you wished to sit indoors (we did not get to the Anchor but it was busy of a weekend). The village also has a couple of tea/cafe type shops, 2 gift shops and a beach shop in the main car park on the quay.Southwold is an easy drive for bigger shops (independent and national), a small but fun pier arcade and a great brewery tour. We also took the river ferry (rowed or motor boat for a fee) and it is about a 20 minute walk to the main town - comfy trainers recommended!

We stayed here last year and it was as lovely as we remembered. There were fewer diffusers around this time so you weren’t hit with delicious smells as you entered the property as we were last time but it is still an exceptional holiday stay.

Beautiful apartment bright and comfy with everything you could possibly need. Lovely touches throughout especially the apple juice fudge and biscuits. Walberswick itself is a lovely village as is surrounding area plenty to see and do we only put the tv on once in a week despite having some rain. We were happy to spend our evenings in the Lantern Loft reading and playing board games. Would love to visit again
