Ideally situated for sightseeing. Towns of Ludlow, home of good food, Leominster, home of antiques and Tenbury Wells, renowned for its history of mistletoe and Art Deco Cinema plus variety of small independent traders. All three are within a 20 minutes drive. A variety of National Trust properties within 30 minutes drive. Countryside walks in abundance. The Clee and The Stretton Hills are within 40 minutes drive of us. Black and white village Trail. Golf courses nearby. Local cinema, 15 minutes. Shops 4 miles, local pub 1½ miles.

We had the most wonderful weekend at Howards End and left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed.Nestled in a beautiful rural setting, the peace and tranquillity of the location is truly something special. It was the perfect escape from everyday life, with nothing but birdsong, open countryside and a real sense of calm.The house itself is absolutely beautiful and has been lovingly cared for. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, making it feel both luxurious and wonderfully homely. It is exceptionally well equipped – whether it's books, DVDs, CDs, kitchen equipment, or plenty of towels, everything you could possibly need is there.We especially loved making the most of the fantastic BBQ facilities, which were perfect for a long summer evening spent together as a family. We had also requested an extra fan because of the warm weather, and it was kindly provided before we arrived – a thoughtful touch that was very much appreciated.What made our stay even more memorable was the warm hospitality of the owners. We were delighted to find a tray of delicious homemade flapjacks waiting for the whole family on arrival. It was such a thoughtful and generous gesture, and immediately made us feel so welcome.We are absolutely delighted that we chose Howards End for our family break. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, comfortable and welcoming countryside retreat. We very much hope to return.

Howard's End is reached by very narrow single track lanes with bushes on each side. This can make driving interesting. The cottage itself is set close to the owners house, in farmland. We visited National Trust properties nearby (Berrington Hal and Croft Castle) as well as the Blists Hill Victorian town near Ironbridge (recently acquired by the National Trust. As railway enthusiasts a visit to the Severn Valley Railway was a must. Bewdley Station was the ideal place to park the car.The owners of Howard's End were welcoming and friendly, with a selection of home made biscuits and cakes. Their dog, Medlar, was also very welcoming.We really enjoyed the holiday, although we had to take it at a slightly slower pace than planned due to the heatwave.
