Guests say

The Old School House is a charming and spacious cottage, ideal for families and groups seeking a countryside retreat. Guests consistently praise the friendly and attentive hosts, the unique character of the property, and the excellent location near scenic walks and a popular local pub. The hot tub and communal areas are highlights, and the property is generally well-equipped. While most found the house clean and comfortable, a few noted minor maintenance issues and occasional discomfort with beds or sofa beds. Overall, the property offers a memorable and enjoyable stay with thoughtful touches throughout.

Most guests found the property very clean and well-presented, with only a few mentioning cobwebs or spiders, which are understandable given the rural setting. A couple of reviews noted minor cleanliness issues with the hot tub and sofas, but these did not significantly detract from the overall impression.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to beautiful countryside, walking routes, and the well-regarded Boyne Arms pub. Guests appreciated the peaceful setting and easy access to nearby attractions such as Ludlow and Ironbridge.

The property is generally described as spacious and comfortable, with a large communal area and good amenities. However, several guests mentioned uncomfortable beds or sofa beds, and a few experienced issues with heating during colder months.

Facilities such as the hot tub, kitchen, and garden are frequently highlighted as excellent. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues (e.g., broken bed, sofa, or hot tub glass) and suggested a few more kitchen items for larger groups. Overall, the facilities are well-received.

Many guests commented on the hosts' friendliness and helpfulness, with thoughtful touches such as hot tub preparation, flowers, cakes, and dog treats mentioned. Please note that such gifts or extras are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had an amazing time at the old school house. Plenty of places to sit down to relax, and the table football was a huge hit with the kids. The kitchen area had plenty of cooking appliances along with more than enough tableware and cutlery- there was even a pressure cooker. The outdoor area was nice and secluded, and we did enjoy the hot tub. There were a few cobwebs, mainly in the higher hard to reach areas, that lead to seeing quite a few spiders but we didn't mind that too much.We went to the owners' pub for a meal one evening as well and food was really good and enjoyed by all, and pricing was quite reasonable given the location. The owners are also really lovely people.Overall, a lovely holiday and we would definitely consider returning in future

Lovely place to stay with family. Everything you need and very comfortable. Situated opposite a beautiful parkland with easy acces to paths up to Brown Clee (well worth the walk). The hosts are really accommodating not only at the house but also at The Boyne Arms which is literally a two minute walk for really delicious food! Plus a lovely beer garden for an afternoon/evening tipple. - nothing is too much trouble, hot tub ready on arrival, flowers and homemade cakes were a lovely touch. One tip - bring flip flops to get to the hot tub. We all had a really lovely stay and would really hope to come back. Thoroughly recommend this house.
