The Onibury is located in the stunning Shropshire countryside, near to the famous market (and foodie heaven) town of Ludlow. The Onibury is one of three barns that nestles in the grounds of a 2000 acre country estate where guests are welcome to walk and take in the glorious views on your doorstep. The Onibury is located on one level, with no internal steps. Once inside you will find a large, open plan kitchen / living dining area, where you can relax and watch your fellow guests create glorious meals in the well appointed kitchen. If you would prefer a bit more peace and quiet, then retreat to the living room, and lose yourself in a good book, or catch up with the day's news. For large families or groups of friends, then The Onibury is well equipped with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Outside the barn there are extensive grounds to explore and you have access to a shared bar b q to enjoy on balmy summer evenings. In addition, The Onibury also has shared access to a heated indoor swimming pool which you can book to use exclusively for your party and use of a hard tennis court so don’t forget your racket. We felt that The Onibury is a great choice for a good sized party group looking for spacious accommodation with great facilities on site and also some excellent places to visit nearby. A superb place for a get-together or family holiday.

The small market town of Craven Arms, known as The Gateway to the Marches is conveniently located between the beautiful medieval town of Ludlow and delightful Church Stretton. Craven Arms is an ideal base, which nestles close to the scenic Wenlock Edge and Corvedale Valley with fine walks from the town to lovely Stokesay Castle, one of England's finest fortified manors, or the very popular Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre. The town also has some charming and historic houses, including a round house, thought to be a recognisable rest house for pilgrims travelling between Wigmore and Shrewsbury Abbeys and the fascinating 'Museum of Lost Content'. Just two miles away in the village of Wistanstow is the Plough Inn, a good local wood brewery. Church Stretton is close by and nestles between the Long Mynd and Caradoc Hills, renowned for their scenic walks and excellent golf course. The historic towns of Bishop's Castle, Ludlow and Shrewsbury are a short drive away, and offer magnificent castles, riverside walks, wonderful shops, pubs, restaurants, exciting theatres and a variety of festivals. This is a perfect base for touring all of beautiful Shropshire at any time of the year.

Clear instructions provided by sykes prior to arriving. Payment taken on dates stated. Pros: ⢠accommodation comfy, all beds made up on our arrival & enough storage/wardrobe space for all the guests ⢠Lovely sociable kitchen which allowed family to gather for meals & games. Good size fridge & freezer in cottage and having 2 dishwashers was very useful. Plenty of crockery & utensils available ⢠Although we stayed in august we unfortunately experienced cold/rainy weather which meant the cottage was at times quite cold. This was mentioned to the house manager who immediately granted us access to the boiler which made all the difference. ⢠Tennis court was a nice bonus with bats & balls provided ⢠Pool lovely size & good temperature. Booking system quite easy to use although as itâs a shared facility it does rely on the guests in the other cottages using it fairly Cons: ⢠only one washing machine to serve 3 cottages which can potentially house 39 people. No tumble dryer either which would of been useful as only other method of drying available was a single clothes maiden ⢠Childrenâs play area in need of upgrade. Pictures on website no longer reflect the facilities that are available. There was no trampoline on site, the goalkeeping net was not fit for purpose, the table tennis bats were broken & the pool table was out of service. Overall the omnibury was a great base for our holiday & we have all left with fond memories of our time there.

Went to see the owner ? Double booking. She then showed us to The Park property which we said was ok ( so the other people in the onnibury neednât Move out) although they said they were booked into it but had no paperwork to prove this!! We were about to move our things into The Park when the owner said we couldnât go into that and showed us to The Walton. We had a look and said ok as we didnât have much choice! This didnât start our holiday very well. We were then very apprehensive in case someone else came and said they were booked in.Not at all sure what happened ( I think the people who were in the onnibury should have been in The Walton. Just one more thing the booking for the Tennis and swimming pool was very confusing. The sheets that you had to put your name on werenât clear. Which sheet was which. No dates on them to say whether it was last weeks sheet or not. The upset with the booking was upsetting and stressful. The people that were in the onnibury were a Mr & Mrs Hill but I donât think they booked the property thru Sykes cottages.

This was quickly sorted by Sharon who was very helpful. The key areas appeared to be clean. Kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. However in the main living area. Up in the apex there were lots of large cobwebs on the beams and window. Which had clearly been there for a long time. I know they might be difficult to reach but you can get extending poles. Also we found chocolates on the floor behind a chairs in the middle living room. That being said our family enjoyed our stay very much. Mainly due to the large well equipped family room were we spent the evenings all together.
