Perched on the outskirts of the historic town of Ludlow, Shropshire, is this wonderful three-bedroom, detached dormer bungalow, Roseland. Enjoying a superb location just moment’s away from the local amenities and within easy reach of the Shropshire Hills AONB, Roseland is a fantastic dog-friendly dwelling for couples or a family of five. Leave your vehicle on the private driveway with space for two cars, before being greeted by a delightful enclosed front garden, featuring a bistro table for two and a bench, it is the perfect spot for enjoying your morning coffee. Step into the sitting room, where you can look forward to evening’s spent relaxing on the plush seating in front of the electric fire (or open fire in the winter), as your favourite show plays out on the Smart TV. Rustle up delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a handy dishwasher, ready to enjoy at the dining table for six or alfresco out in the rear garden, where your four-legged friends can run and play. As the evening cools, retire to the conservatory where you can enjoy evening drinks as you recount the days adventures. The conservatory also features a washing machine for your convenience. Completing the ground floor is a single bedroom, served by a well-appointed family bathroom, ideal for indulgent soaks or refreshing showers after a day of exploring. Follow the stairs up to the first floor, where you will find two further bedrooms, a spacious king-size with basin and TV, and a twin, both with plenty of storage and access to a cloakroom. Explore your local surroundings, where right on your doorstep you will find the family and dog friendly pub/restaurant, Squirrel, offering a tasty menu and local ales, as well as one well-stocked convenience store for stocking up on essentials as well as a pet store and petrol station. Just a 10 minute walk away is a soft play area with a cafe, perfect for a wet day. Head further into the town, which is only a 20 minute walk away, where you can delve into history at the Ludlow Museum, explore the remarkable Ludlow Castle which frequently hosts markets, fayres and concerts throughout the year, picnic in the picturesque Linney Riverside Park, or meet the locals and purchase fresh produce at the traditional open-air market which takes place every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday throughout the year. Also on Sunday's there are specialist markets, such as antique, craft, makers market and food market. Also there are well renowned food festivals in May and September where people come from far afield to enjoy. Foodies will have found their haven, with five Michelin Star restaurants on offer within the town, including Forelles, Old Downton Lodge, Mortimers and French Pantry. The cottage is close to Mortimer Forest which is well known for cycling and walking with some fantastic views from Vynals Trail to enjoy. Keen walkers and cyclists will delight at the proximity of the Shropshire Hills AONB, where you will find a wealth of historic sights and walking trails, including the famous 200-mile Shropshire Way Walk. Craven Arms is a good place to visit with Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and the Museum of Lost Content, as well the free adult outdoor fitness gym and a children's play area. Also close by is Mickey Millers play barn for the kids to expend some energy. Within the AONB, you will find the popular destinations of Church Stretton, home to the Rectory Wood and offering easy access to the Carding Mill Valley, the Long Mynd and the Acton Scott Working Farm Museum. Venture further afield to the bustling city of Hereford, where you will find the attractions of Hereford Cider Museum Trust, Hereford Cathedral, famous for the Mapa Mundi and chained library. Just over the Herefordshire border is the Black and White Heritage Trail with lovely Tudor and Elizabethan cottages. Adventure awaits at Roseland.

Ludlow, a market town in the Welsh Marches, sits on the River Teme and is surrounded by breathtaking countryside. In addition to Ludlow Castle, which is over 900 years old and one of the first stone castles to be built in England, the town has more than 500 listed buildings. All year long, the castle is open to the public and hosts a wide variety of events, including outdoor theatre and food festivals, art and literature festivals, as well as numerous antique and art shows. Millenium Green provides a large riverside green and weir for public use, as well as excellent indoor and outdoor dining options via the Green Cafe, which is located right on the riverside of the Green. Street markets have been held in Ludlow since the 12th century. Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday of the year, a traditional open-air market is held in the town square. The 'Local to Ludlow' produce market on Thursdays and the Antique & Flea market on Sundays feature more than forty stalls selling a variety of goods, including fresh produce, cheeses, books, and a selection of local crafts.

For those who enjoy fine dining and shopping, Ludlow is the place to be.

In addition to its numerous restaurants and bars, the town is home to a number of boutique-style clothing and gift shops.     The upstairs toilet cannot be used overnight as the noise it makes would wake the whole house. The fridge is far too small and you have to sit on the floor to use it properly. We left three nights early as we could not take the cluttered rooms any longer.

    There is some updating required which is pointed out by the lovely owners, in the vast activities book they provided. Welcome pack was a delightful surprise. Garden was huge and our 2 dogs loved it, they could run all around the property safely. This is a beautiful property as it is and would stay again.

    The garden was beautiful and a restful place to sit. Only problem was that the wifi was really poor, we were a family of 2 and both of us had a laptop. On multiple occasions we struggled to access basic emails and the connection dropped out regularly. This lovely house sleeps 5 people and in most families more than 2 devices would be being used. The wifi just wasn't good enough.
