Just a mile from the market town of Much Wenlock and 2.5 miles from Ironbridge, The Owls House is set in a peaceful rural spot that’s perfect for guests who want to relax and enjoy the quiet surroundings. It’s not suitable for partygoers, but ideal for walkers, cyclists, and anyone looking to switch off for a few days or more. Whether you’re heading out to explore or spending time at home, it’s a wonderful base in a beautiful location.
The cottage itself is full of charm, with plenty of space and thoughtful touches throughout. There’s a ground-floor double bedroom with an ensuite, plus a large bathroom on the same floor and two further bedrooms upstairs, both with Juliet balconies that bring in lots of natural light. The open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas make it easy to spend time together, whether you’re cooking, watching something on the Smart TV, or simply chatting over dinner. Patio doors lead out to a private courtyard with outdoor furniture and a small herb garden. Just around the corner is a decked area with a hot tub and outdoor seating, a nice spot to unwind after a day out. There’s also access to a large, lawned garden area (the garden is shared with the owner who has chickens) small dogs are very welcome too. For muddy paws or bikes, there’s a hose and a muck-off area, plus a secure place to store cycles.
There’s plenty to do nearby, with some lovely walking and cycling trails right on your doorstep. The local area is known for its history, with Ironbridge’s museums, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, independent shops, and riverside pubs. Explore Wenlock Edge, try paddleboarding on the Severn, or wander through nearby National Trust estates. The local area is rich with history, heritage and hidden gems, just waiting for you to discover them. You can find local pubs, farm shops, and cafés within a short drive, and if you’re keen to explore further, this part of Shropshire is packed with quiet lanes, historic sites, and peaceful countryside. Whether you’re here for a weekend or a longer break, it’s a great place to switch off and enjoy what the area has to offer.

The garden is not enclosed therefore not dog friendly. The house is tired, in need of some attention inside and out. Needs a bigger fridge to accommodate 6 people, only 1 cereal bowl. Beds are only double, not king size. Location is great and hot tub a real treat but would not recommend property as a holiday destination for anyone with dogs.

Lovey march weekend stay at the owls house, shane was extremley welcoming, property was clean, spacious, beds really comfortable, dog friendly, great grounds for them to run around with lots of wildlife, hot tub was a bonus which we enjoyed every evening after a day of walking, local to ironbridge and other scenic places to visit, Would reccomend the riverside inn for sunday lunchWill definitely be returning for another stay and look forward to seeing Shane and Rusty the dog
