What our customers say about their holidays

    Fabulous weekend with the girls.

My oldest school friends and I met in Ludlow to celebrate my birthday. A Friday to Friday booking. Chose Sunningdale after careful research as the places in town centre had difficult and expensive parking and Sunningdale had great parking for 3 cars and only 10 minutes walk to town. Didn’t really clock the place had an added bonus, the games room! We had two nights of fun - juke box, air hockey, pool table and car racing to add to our enjoyment with our cocktail’s. The place warmed up quickly with electric heater even in Feb. All in all a very warm and comfortable house, probably the best equipped kitchen ever had, and once we’d worked out there was no kitchen bin and how to organise ourselves for the 4 types of rubbish we were sorted! Great upstairs bathroom. There’s even a charging station for two electric toothbrushes! Great beds. Luxury towels. And I’ve not even mentioned the home made cake, sweet treats, two bottles of wine and a cream topped milk. We enjoyed the castle, bread walk, river walk, unusual independent shops shopping, fat face, leaf and white stuff, Saturday market plus eating and drinking in Ludlow. Really good place for a girls weekend! Since the price was the same for the weekend as the week I stayed on to work for the week. I now want to live in Ludlow! Good office work space, good Wi-Fi. In the evenings I enjoyed two trips to the cinema (10 minutes walk) and Aqua Aerobics at the leisure centre (20 minutes walk), which I booked about two weeks before my visit no problem. During lunchtimes I nipped into town to get my steps in. Every second Thursday of month there’s the farmers market. But even if you don’t have that you have fabulous cheese, butchers, wine and deli shops everywhere. Only a 10 minutes walk to a massive Tesco if needed. All in all probably the most enjoyable self catering experience ever. Thank you to the hosts next door for sharing your lovely home with us.

We loved our stay at Rolling Hills and had a great time from start to finish, we didn’t want to leave!

It is the perfect place to escape from daily life, with amazing views from the property and outdoor space. It is the little things that make a difference. The owners had left biscuits, tea, coffee, milk, eggs and more. This was a thoughtful touch. They gave us lots of local recommendations and they also responded promptly when we had a small issue. It was very clean and the facilities were brilliant, comfy beds, consistent hot water in the main building and lovely showers. The BBQ area and spacious kitchen with large dining table are perfect for meal times. The only feedback we could give is maybe some form of clothing rail in the bedrooms for longer stays and some form of blinds on the roundhouse skylights for bright mornings. The games area was a big hit with both the children and adults, as well as chilling in the hammocks provided and stargazing on the clear nights. The children also loved adventures down to the stream at the bottom of the hill. Overall we would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the coming years. Thank you to the owners for the effort you put in to making this place as wonderful as it is!

We had a fabulous holiday at Rolling Hills and would highly recommend to any families who love stunning views, walking, peace and quiet.

The space was great for our group of 11 and allowed separate families privacy when needed. The roundhouses are comfortable and are very warm and cosy when the wood stoves are lit at night (this was a quick and easy process). The main building has a very large and well-equipped kitchen; a spacious living room with enough sofas for everyone and a gigantic smart TV and a small games room, which the children loved. Highlights of our holiday included being able to let the children roam around the fields, walking along Offa's Dyke Way which borders the property, stargazing from hammocks outside and sitting by the pizza oven outside at night, listening to owls hoot. The accommodation is down an extremely bumpy farm track and the nearest shop is some distance away, so we appreciated the starter pack of treats from the owners. The only inconvenience was the lack of showers in the roundhouses, though there was a toilet and washbasin in each roundhouse and two large shower rooms a short walk away in the main building. We had a great break and would love to visit again.

Recommend Sunningdale, with special thanks to Mr & Mrs Leake as Sunningdale meet all our expectations and more.

The House was very clean and we have never stayed in self catering accommodation which so well equipped, with all the little finishing touches, which were so unexpected and welcome. Mrs Leake also went out of her way to make Gluten free shortbread & lemon slices, in addition to the other cakes & biscuits which were very much enjoyed by "the other half". Thank you both. Home has beautiful gardens and we made the most of them after a day out to sit out with a cuppa on the patio, with only the sounds of the birds in the pergola. Once battle with the Covid situation has been won we hope to return to fully enjoy the wonderful historic sites that Shropshire has to offer. Would recommend Stokesay Castle, book a day tour on the Severn Valley Heritage Railway and visit RAF Cosford Museum. Did not use any of the eateries in Ludlow but did make a trip to the Ludlow Farm Shop, a little more expensive than supermarkets but the steak we bought was the best we have ever eaten.

Rolling Hills provided the perfect break for us and two other families.

Be prepared......to actually get there you drive down tiny lanes for a few miles, which was a little daunting at first. But once done a few times you get used to it and learn some lanes are easier to navigate than others! However, once there, it's idyllic. The views are absolutely beautiful! The kids enjoyed having the freedom to enjoy the countryside. And it was so peaceful. My absolute favourite part was the evenings, sitting around the fire pit, a glass of wine, chatting and looking at the incredible night sky without any light polution. First one to spot a shooting star!!!! The accommodation was ideal, two yurts plus bedrooms in the main cabin meant everyone had their own space, but could be together in the communal areas. It was incredibly clean and tidy, and the beds were so comfortable (and enormous!) I'd really recommend Rolling Hills for folk who want to get away from it all, enjoy quality time with friends or family in a stunning location.
