In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this charming Shropshire cottage has been tastefully renovated to combine modern conveniences with original features and has a delightful, large galleried bedroom with exposed oak beams and trusses, a warming woodburner and a secluded, patio garden offering countryside views. The idyllic village of Picklescott is at the halfway point of a delightful circular walk along small country lanes whilst the surrounding area provides scenic walks including the Shropshire Way just half a mile from the property. Visit Church Stretton or Shrewsbury, explore Ludlow's majestic castle or discover the magnificent gorge at the world renowned Ironbridge. An ideal Shropshire cottage for a wonderful break, any time of year.
Set in the Shropshire Hills and adjacent to the Long Mynd, the village of Picklescott is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow are also close by and boast impressive castles, excellent shops, restaurants and scenic, riverside walks. The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, the amazing Roman ruins at Wroxeter and Stokesay Castle are all within easy driving distance.

The bathroom is on the ground floor so no toilet up in the bedroom which is large, the bed is a king size bed but the mattress is on the firm side with no give, we found it too hard for our joints. There is some walks about but you have to walk on the road for some of them, Church Stretton is about a 15 minute drive if you need shopping and is a nice village, we really liked it. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing, we would recommend for a couple of days, we would of liked to of sat out on the table and chairs in the courtyard area but unfortunately there is no gate through to the owners garden so you have to keep your dog on a lead, it could be made into a little area so you can have your dog outside with you and not put them on a lead especially as the weather was really warm. The bathroom is small and difficult to dry yourself after a shower but it was ok for us, wifi wasn't great but if you don't care about being on your phone you won't mind. This cottage is attached to owners property and it's linked with a door which is kept locked, i wasn't sure if it was on the details or not.

Stayed for entire duration of June heatwave-stone built cottage stayed cool as possible in extreme conditions with careful management of blinds and curtains. Owners Nicki & David couldnât have been more helpful. Accomodation is adjacent to owners farmhouse but entirely private. Due to the extreme heat I spent a lot of time at the cottage and was never bored.

Can't fault in anyway how clean cottage was All things supplied by owners good quality Bed was a great size and so comfortable Bedding great quality the only minor fault was getting tv to work but after quick text the owner give us some info and we got it on but owner turned shortly afterwards to make sure tv was on its hard to find a fault except the weather let us down lol but even here the nice easy to run log burner kept cottage nice and warm and it was made up for us on arrival Nice gesture plus plenty logs and sticks to use when needed plenty wild life around cottage pheasants squirrels bird life nice seeing so many partridge around pus owners chickens were nice would have been more than happy for them all running around the cottage more so as its the countryside and all these sounds go hand in hand place was a pleasure in everyday David and elaine
