About this property

A delightful three bedroom converted coach house in the centre of the picturesque Staffordshire village of Church Leigh, near the southern tip of the Peak District National Park. Set in the grounds of the owner’s home, this beautiful brick-built conversion is tastefully furnished throughout and is the perfect place for couples and families to enjoy a peaceful retreat or as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. The modern open plan kitchen and dining area with granite work surfaces and polished porcelain flooring is a fantastic space for socialising. From here French windows open into the sheltered courtyard and garden where children can play safely and you can sit in the sun and enjoy a glass of something refreshing with birds and church bells supplying the background music. The sitting room is a comfortable and cosy place to sit and chat or just gaze into the mesmerising designer fireplace, a modern take on a log burning stove. The three bedrooms are furnished with quality beds and furniture and one has an en-suite shower room. The bathroom is light, contemporary and finished to a very high standard. Staying close to your home-from-home you can decide whether to be saint or sinner as one neighbour is the beautiful All Saints Church and the other is the village pub! If you can tear yourself away, venture a little further to explore Ashbourne with its narrow cobbled alleys, market stalls and coaching inns. There are lots of lovely villages to explore and walks to enjoy such as stunning Dovedale and the abbey ruins at Croxden. Alton Towers is just 9 miles away or maybe enjoy a day at Uttoxeter Races, a mere 7 miles canter away. Whatever the season and whatever the weather, this luxury cottage makes for a great holiday.

Steeped in history and situated at the southern end of the Peak District, is the lovely village of Church Leigh with a beautiful Norman church. With Uttoxeter Racecourse and Alton Towers within very easy reach, this is a lovely village for a holiday.

    We had a wonderful time.

One of our grandsons had several nose bleeds during the week and they were so understanding and provided us with fresh linen. The cottage was very well furnished and the kitchen stocked with all the equipment that you could possibly require. The table was extendable and we enjoyed family meals, games and craft activities around it when we weren’t round and about discovering museums, stately homes, parks etc…. The village’s recreation ground was a great place for the boys to indulge their madness for football and the villagers were so nice to the boys on Halloween. A lovely stay.
