Guests say

Rose Cottage in Worcestershire is a charming holiday rental with a mix of reviews. Guests have praised its excellent location, characterful features, and the thoughtful touches provided by the owners. While some guests found the cottage to be a comfortable and well-equipped 'home-away-from-home', others noted areas for improvement in cleanliness and maintenance.

Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Some guests reported the cottage as clean and tidy, while others experienced issues with cleanliness, including unclean bathrooms and kitchenware. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests variability in the standard of cleanliness.

The location of Rose Cottage is highly praised for its peaceful setting and proximity to local amenities, including shops, cafes, and pubs. Its easy access to nearby towns and countryside walks contributes to its high rating.

Comfort levels are generally well-regarded, with guests mentioning comfy beds and a cozy fireplace. However, some noted low ceilings and inadequate lighting, and a few suggested that the mattresses and seating could be updated for enhanced comfort.

Facilities are appreciated, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and ample parking. However, some guests noted the need for better maintenance and updates, including the bathroom and kitchen utensils, which affects the score.

Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches such as a selection of teas, coffees, and jams. While these gifts are mentioned positively, it is important to note that such offerings are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for all stays.

Its very well positioned for accessing the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds by car with the bonus of being a short walk to the picturesque town centre of Upton upon Severn with its interesting selection of shops, restaurants and bars. The property itself has real charm and provided all the facilities we needed for our stay. We would look to stay here again if we re-visit the area.

The outer entrance was dirty covered in dust and dead flies. Cobwebs in every room, the bedrooms were particularly bad. The oven was dirty and tiles in the kitchen were unclean. We had to wash pans which were dirty and some mouldy. Also some glasses and crockery required a clean. I rang the owner Joyce and sent her pictures. She apologised said she would ask the cleaners to come back the following morning. But unfortunately it wasn’t sorted out. I called Joyce and she apologised and I advised her the property needed a deep clean.

Despite the cottage being old it is warm and the gas stove made it cosy. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the travel cot, high chair and stair gates fitted for our toddler. Thank you.
