About this property

4 Tyne Street is a delightful, terraced townhouse resting in Haworth, with close by amenities and attractions, it is a delightful base for a family or group of friends looking for a getaway to West Yorkshire. Be welcomed into a charming open-plan living space, first discovering a characterful sitting area where an electric fire warms your feet from an exposed brick fireplace as you rest in one of the sofas and plan the day ahead. As lunchtime rolls around, head over to the amply fitted kitchen, where you can rustle up a storm and dine at the dining table, before challenging your family to a pool tournament in the basement games room, trying out darts and air hockey. When sleep calls, freshen up in the bathroom with either a relaxing soak in the tub or a warm shower, before retiring to either a double room with lovely countryside views, or a bunk room. When the sun is shining, head out into the rear garden and enjoy alfresco dining with a backdrop of mature trees and the sound of the steam trains going by. Haworth is a charming village with a selection of eateries and pubs, with options including The Treehouse Bar and Kitchen, Old Haworth hall and Haworth Tandoori, as well as a convenience store for all of your holiday essentials. Visit the Brontë Parsonage Museum to find out more about the famous authors, or try out a game of golf at Branshaw Golf Club, or alternatively take a scenic ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Local walks include those at Ponden Kirk & Fairy Cave, Top Withens, and Bronte Waterfall, or guests can head over to the bustling town of Halifax and explore the Bankfield Museum, Eureka! Other locations to visit include Bradford with its shops and museums, and Skipton Castle, as well as the impressive hikes threaded throughout the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Enjoy all of this and so much more with a stay at the lovely 4 Tyne Street.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. Ideal location. Around 20 minutes to Halifax, Skipton and Salt Mills. Would definitely recommend 4 Tyne Street.

The cottage was well equipped for all our needs and spacious for the 3 of us and our little dog. Our 12 year old son loved the games room and we spent most evenings playing darts or pool which we all enjoyed. The welcome basket was much appreciated and the welcome book full of ideas to explore the area. The cottage is ideally located to walk into Haworth and the surrounding area. Haworth is beautiful with plenty of little shops, cafes and pubs. We walked along the canal at Hebden Bridge, again this is a lovely place but a little busier than Haworth and I would presume in the middle of summer would be extremely busy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this cottage. We will definitely look to return.
