Cringles House is a well-received holiday rental with guests praising its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and stunning views. The hot tub is a highlight, comfortably accommodating large groups. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packages, though these are not guaranteed. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns are noted, the overall experience is highly recommended for family reunions and group gatherings.
Most guests found Cringles House to be clean and well-presented, with a few noting areas for improvement such as under-sofa debris and a non-functional vacuum cleaner. The majority of reviews, however, reflect a satisfactory level of cleanliness.
The property's location is generally praised for its excellent views and proximity to local attractions. However, a few guests noted the proximity to a busy road, which affected the tranquility for some. Overall, the location is considered great for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
Guests find the bedrooms cozy and the house warm, with ample space for relaxation. Some guests mentioned uncomfortable mattresses and issues with radiators, but these comments are relatively few compared to the overall positive feedback on comfort.
The facilities, including the kitchen and hot tub, are highly praised. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working radiators, a blocked shower, and appliance malfunctions. Despite this, the range of amenities is appreciated.
The owners' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests delighted by welcome packs and responsive communication. It's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed and may vary.
This wonderful, detached, stone-built Edwardian house with a ten-seater hot tub is situated in its own grounds in an outstanding location, in the small hamlet of Cringles, just one mile from the lovely village of Addingham and close to the spa town of Ilkley. Set in an enviable position, high on a hill, the cottage enjoys breathtaking views and fabulous walks in every direction, a first-class holiday base, perfect for friends and families exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Fully-renovated and furnished to a high standard, this fabulous cottage features contemporary luxuries including a beautifully tiled floor throughout most of the ground floor. Upstairs, there are two king-size double bedrooms, with one boasting en-suite facilities, along with two further spacious bedrooms, and a stylish family bathroom with freestanding bath and underfloor heating. There is an outstanding, stylish kitchen with a Rangemaster cooker, a central island with a granite worktop, and a modern oven and microwave set at eye-level. Gather in the dining room and discuss the days adventures over delicious, home-cooked meals, before retiring to the sitting room boasting a cosy woodburning stove. There is also a spacious second sitting room with a sofa bed and outside, the cottage is surrounded by gardens on three sides, with marvellous long distance views stretching in all directions. Let the children play on the lawn while you soak up the summer sunshine on the terrace patio, and enjoy alfresco dining on warm summer nights. For a true taste of luxury, sit back and relax in the luxurious ten-seater hot tub with four dedicated deep immersion bucket seats, a full body lounger and a domed foot massager, complete with Hydropools reflexology jets. The centre of Addingham is just a fifteen minute walk from this wonderful cottage, offering a good range of pubs, one of which serves gourmet food, a fabulous selection of restaurants and eateries, and a wealth of historic buildings. There is also a lovely, friendly golf course close by! Nearby, the towns of Skipton, Ilkley, and the historic Bolton Abbey are a must-visit, while glorious Malham and Grassington offer beautiful, limestone scenery, just a short drive away. This sensational cottage is the perfect getaway for discovering all that Yorkshire has to offer, all year round.
In the Domesday Book, Addingham is referred to as "Ediham", or "Home of Edi" - the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. This historic village is located between Ilkley and Skipton and sits snugly in the valley of the River Wharfe, only three miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. A corn mill near where High Mills is today was also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1315, and over from the river is a weir, one of the most ancient medieval constructions in the village. Scenic Bolton Abbey is close by, and visitors shouldn't leave Addingham without taking a picturesque stroll along the river to the "Strid". Today Addingham is vibrant and thriving local community surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts little shops, fine pubs serving wonderful ales and a rather pleasing golf course.
