Guests say

Guests appreciate the peaceful rural setting, wildlife, and spacious cottages, with several noting the friendly and helpful staff. Many found the cottages well-equipped and clean, and enjoyed the dog-walking field and outdoor space. However, some guests experienced issues with heating, maintenance, and facilities such as the pool, games room, and hot tub. There were also occasional concerns about cleanliness in shared amenities and minor discomforts with furnishings. Despite these drawbacks, the property offers a tranquil retreat with plenty of potential for a relaxing stay.

Several guests found the cottages themselves clean and well-presented, but there were repeated concerns about the cleanliness of shared facilities such as the pool and hot tub, as well as occasional unpleasant odours from drains.

The rural location and surrounding wildlife are highly praised, offering tranquillity and scenic walks. However, the remoteness, difficult access via single-track roads, and incorrect postcode information caused inconvenience for some guests.

While some guests found the cottages comfortable and well-equipped, others reported issues with heating, worn-out sofas, uncomfortable mattresses, and draughts, which affected their overall comfort.

Facilities such as the pool, games room, and hot tub were frequently mentioned but often described as in need of maintenance or repair. Some amenities were unavailable or not as advertised, and minor equipment was missing or broken.

Guests appreciated the friendly, responsive staff and occasional welcome packs. However, please note that gifts such as welcome packs are not guaranteed with every stay.

We stayed on the same site 2 years ago & really enjoyed it which is why we booked again but we were really disappointed ☹️Lots of building work right outside our cottage which we were not told about before we got there. The site is really run down, no swimming pool now, games room looks tatty. We had a problem with the hot tub which was unusable due to being dirty, housekeeper came out next day after we contacted her & tried to clean it but it just got dirty again once jets were on.The actual cottage was clean but really run down eg. Curtains don’t shut properly due to hooks missing. Sofas were like sitting on floor as so old, The dog field is not secure as advertised, there is no gate to close, football net had more holes than net, over all not a great experience, we actually left a day early due to issues. & would not book again.

Had a wonderful break.Cottage was excellent. Everything you might need and lovely welcome pack.I personally was very nervous on the 3 mile drive on the single track road to get to cottages.Sat nav took us 10 mile out of our way.Not well signposted from village.Play area was fine but needed paths clearing of thistles.Whole family loved the cottage and outdoor space.Plenty to do nearby for all ages.Housekeeper was lovely. Dog walk was excellent.Never seen so many bunnies.Hot tub was a bonus.Thank you.
