St Margaret’s Church is a beautiful holiday home located just 3 miles from the popular town of Ingleton. The accommodation offers you a high end luxury and alternative stay.

Walking through the church doors you are met with a spacious, cleverly designed, open plan layout. The ground floor offers two seating areas, a well-equipped, modern kitchen, dining area and downstairs shower room. You will notice many of the original features have been kept in the building, from stained glass windows to plaques and beams, simply wonderful. Upstairs follows an unconventional and unique design of glass walls centring the church. There are two en-suite kingsize bedrooms and a further two double bedrooms sharing a family bathroom.

St Margaret’s Church is located just off the main high street in the village, making it an easy walk to access the shops, restaurants and pubs Bentham has to offer. There are some fabulous walks to be enjoyed straight from the front door. If, however, you plan to do some more adventurous hiking, then Ingleton is just 3 miles away and the three peaks of Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough, and the Lakeland hills are all easily accessed.

The station opposite the house grants accessibility to all, whether that is to the coast, in to the Yorkshire Dales or to Leeds and Manchester.

There is so much to do in this area from cycling, caving, hiking and golfing! Just 10 miles away in the neighbouring town of Kirkby Lonsdale. This quirky market town is surrounded by historic buildings, many of them hundreds of years old, that line the town’s streets and squares include a range of cafés, pubs, and independent shops, which combine to provide a traditional shopping experience that’s hard to find on the modern British high street.

Whether it’s 4 miles to Ingleton, 10 to Kirby in Lonsdale or 12 to Settle, St Margaret’s Church is the perfect base from which to explore southern and central Cumbria, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Forest of Bowland and Lancashire, with lots to do locally and plenty of excellent days out.

We had a fantastic stay at st Margaret’s! We holidayed as a group of friends and were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the church which has been converted excellently. It seemed everything had been thought of in the kitchen with plenty of fridge and freezer space, picnic sets and even kitchen appliances like coffee machine and blender available. We weren’t huge fans of the ‘smart home’ set up - just because there was not a complete set of commands anywhere and switches that did exist shined very brightly at night. However, it didn’t dampen our holiday (not even when we accidentally switched all the lights in the house on and off at 3am about 4 times desperately trying to get them to go off! Whoops!) The car parking is perfectly positioned and easy enough to access and there is a park just across the way which was perfect for a game of rounders. Martin was responsive and helpful throughout our stay and we’d highly recommended st Margaret’s to anyone looking for spacious accommodation completed to a high standard. The property was very clean and we were immediately able to relax when we arrived. The youngest member of our party was 8 years old and I’d say the stay would have been more worrisome with younger children - wobbly glass handrail on stairs and no door to stairs etc. however, for any flaw I’ve been able to find the positives outweigh them 10 fold! We honestly had the best time and are really looking forward to returning!!
