Fawber Cottage is a well-loved property praised for its comfort, homely feel, and beautiful location. Guests appreciate the stunning views, peaceful setting, and the cottage's proximity to walking trails. The garden is a highlight, and the property's character and warmth are frequently mentioned. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall sentiment is one of satisfaction and a desire to return.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean, with fresh and crisp bedding. However, a few mentioned dust and improperly washed dishes, suggesting occasional lapses in thoroughness.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, stunning views, and proximity to local attractions and walking trails. The lack of mobile signal was noted, but often seen as part of the charm.
Guests generally found the cottage to be comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mentioned issues with seating and bed height, but overall satisfaction with comfort is high.
Facilities are well-regarded, particularly the kitchen and log burner. However, comments about the single bathroom, lack of phone service, and occasional maintenance issues like heating and shower leaks suggest room for improvement.
While some guests mentioned the provision of milk and firewood, there is insufficient information on consistent thoughtful gestures such as welcome gifts to accurately assess this category.
Horton-in-Ribblesdale 0.5 miles. A stone-built detached period cottage, bordering a farm lane, within the lovely hamlet of Newhouses, leading to the Pennine Way. This charming property exudes old world charm, with many original features including beamed ceilings, flagged floors and original slate shelves in the kitchen. The only reason I did not give a 5 for comfort is because I am old and creaky and I found the sofa and armchairs difficult to get out of. They were comfortable whilst sitting on them though! The double bed is also very high and I had to kind of flop on to It to get into it! The cottage itself is in a lovely location. It is simply furnished and there are some lovely little vintage/antique pieces. We really enjoyed all the artwork on the walls. The kitchen is well equipped. If it is raining , I would advise other visitors to park in the little parking area beside the barn and not on the cobbles in front.

The cottage was well equipped and we managed to cook every day. The only missing item was a Yorkshire Puddig tin, but we purchased one locally. Most importantly for me there was no road noise given it is on a road that is a dead end that only services a few farms. One review mentioned the farmer and his quad bike but for our stay at least we never heard anything, most mornings I was up at 5am and sat in the garden looking at the view and listening to the birds. A very peaceful and relaxing holiday that I can fully recommend for someone looking for similar holiday.

Comfy cosy cottage in an ideal location for walking and cycling. Beds extremely comfortable. Some of the kitchen utensils could do with an update ( pots and trays).
