Richmond is within driving distance, as is Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, Hardraw Force.

It is in the middle of nowhere which is just what we wanted. But it is a short drive to lots of beautiful places to visit. There is no mobile signal and the internet access is a bit hit and miss so take plenty of books or games for the lovely quiet evenings

It was very well resourced. The kitchen had everything: lovely big cooker and every cooking utensil you could need (even a wok). The master bedroom had a super king sized bed and ensuite shower room and the smaller double room had a king size bed. Lots of storage. There were lots of games to play with the children. We chose this because it is out in the middle of nowhere. It was a perfect spot to get away from it all. Lovely walks but close enough to places like Richmond and Barnard Castle for shopping and tourism.

The property is set in a beautiful location. Very well equipped, really clean and plenty of space for all 6 of us. The owner has made a lot of effort to provide information on everything within the porperty and suggestions on places to visit nearby. My only gripe is the neighbour's dogs - they are not secured so we had numerous occasions where a pack of them appeared into the garden of the barn. We had our 2 young kids with us, so this was not ideal. The visitor book suggests to keep your children under control....100% should be the other way about given dogs are secondary beings! This particular pack of dogs also spends the majority of the day barking which does spoil the peace and quiet of the area. This was my only negative on the experience.
