Guests say

The Eller Beck in Skipton is highly praised for its immaculate condition, prime central location, and luxurious comfort. Guests appreciate the well-equipped space, historical charm, and thoughtful touches. The proximity to local amenities and the unique water wheel feature add to its appeal, although light sleepers may notice the sound of running water. Overall, it's a top recommendation for both families and large groups seeking a delightful stay.

Guests consistently describe the property as spotlessly clean and immaculate, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness throughout the accommodation.

The central location is greatly appreciated for its convenience to shops, pubs, and historical sites, making it an ideal base for exploring Skipton and the surrounding areas.

The property is repeatedly noted for its comfortable beds and spaciousness, providing a luxurious and relaxing environment. However, one mention of noise from the water wheel suggests that it may affect the comfort of some guests.

The property is well-equipped with modern amenities, including an electric car charger and a jukebox. However, there are comments about the need for cooling fans and parking challenges, which slightly impact the score.

While guests are delighted with the welcoming snacks and the property's historical features, there is no consistent mention of gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category.

Skipton, often known as "The Gateway to the Dales," is well situated for exploring all that the Dales has to offer, and is just a short drive from York, the Lake District, and the West Coast. This charming market town boasts an antique castle that is available to the public, a stunning mediaeval parish church, and a colourful market that fills the cobblestone setts on either side of the high street. It has much to offer the eager tourist. Skipton was rated the "greatest place to live" in Britain by The Sunday Times in 2014, and two years later it was designated one of the top nine towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. At Embsay and Bolton Abbey, steam railroads offer frequent excursions, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal travels through Skipton, passing through the 1-mile-long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short distance. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis, and snooker are all offered nearby, and the great public transportation allows you to leave your car at home!

The owner who restored and converted the building should be commended for how it has been done. It’s a great place to stay offering well designed high quality accommodation in a central location. It offers easy access to the dales and all the transport links plus a central location in Skipton for all that the town has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to wanting a holiday in that area.

The property is beautiful, so tastefully furnished, and the water mill history and machinery on display is fascinating, the juke box in the lounge was a real winner with young and old, we all loved it, some great music on there. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk from the castle and Market place, loads of great pubs and restaurants on your doorstep, parking is perfect, just had to book one extra car in, which was very easy. The owner Andrew was such a nice guy, very helpful and friendly. If I had a small criticism it would be that the gym next door does start very early, but we were invariably up and about by then anyway. We would most certainly recommend to family and friends.
