This delightful, two bedroom cottage in the sought-after village of Osmotherley, a resting point for the Coast to Coast route, sits quietly overlooking the village green, allowing guests to enjoy village life from the doorstep, whilst being close to the popular market town of Northallerton and the North York Moors, and all they have to offer.
2 West End is a pretty and relaxing cottage with underfloor heating throughout, allowing for an inviting stay in any season for up to four guests. The well-equipped kitchen and open-plan living area ensures family and friends can cook up a memorable meal created from locally sourced produce from the vast array of market towns in the area, followed by a relaxing evening discussing the day ahead in the comfortable sitting room. Upstairs, the light and airy master bedroom has a king-size bed with the added benefit of an en-suite shower room, whilst the spacious second bedroom also has a king-size bed and local views.
The real feature of this picturesque cottage is that you don't even have to think about getting into the car. After a morning cup of tea on the wooden bench at the front of the cottage, take a walk and discover this charming village and all the traditional shops on offer. A must is the fish and chip shop, perfect for a lazy 'supper' after a busy day exploring the North York Moors or Yorkshire Coastline. Osmotherley itself is a significant place for walkers, here the Cleveland Way intersects with the famous Coast to Coast Walk. The 190mile Coast to Coast route, from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay, was the brainchild of the legendary walker and guidebook author Arthur Wainwright, so ensure to pack those walking boots!

Lovely cottage in a very picturesque and busy village. It was lovely to sit on the bench at the front of the house and watch the world go by. Very clean cottage.

Well situated cottage at one end of the Osmotherley with walks right from the doorstep. The cottage’s layout with nicely spaced out bedrooms upstairs was ideal for us two couples. This is a good place if you don’t mind the niggles of a newly renovated house - noisy plumbing, shaky table and bench, etc. Hooks on doors for towels and jackets and a teapot would be nice. Housekeeping and communication with the housekeeper was a bit lackadaisical. I notified the housekeeper on arrival that there were only three bath towels and one hand towel for four people. I received a reply on the following day after noon when we were out for the day and had not left a key behind (nor were we advised to do so). After a couple of surly texts, one bath towel arrived on day four. Not much in the way of basics, not even salt and pepper. But so lucky with the weather! Osmotherley has a nice feel and it was lovely to have coffee on the bench outside and see the world go by. As previous visitors have said, the Golden Lion next door is super but better to book even on a weekday.
