Also at the ground-floor level, there is a useful utility room and an inviting double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Your relaxing living area is up on the first floor of the cottage, in the form of a modern lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you can gather for movie nights, prepare hearty feasts with the Yorkshire produce you have bought and gather around the table to dine together as you take in the far-reaching views. Two more bedrooms, another double and a twin, are up on the floor above, together with the family bathroom. Carry a cup of fresh coffee out into the courtyard garden on fine days and gaze out over the hills as you make your plans for the day.
Enjoy exploring pretty Hawes on foot, with its interesting, independent shops. Visit the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum while you are here. Stroll 2 miles to see the waterfall at Cotter Force or venture 10 miles to see the magnificent Aysgarth Falls. The historic town of Richmond is a 24-mile drive from the cottage. Here, you can visit its impressive castle, follow a range of town trails and walk beside the River Swale.
