Enjoying a superb setting in the Yorkshire Dales National Park with idyllic views out towards the fells, A D Coach House is a wonderful pet-friendly dwelling for a group or family of six. Step into the well-equipped kitchen/diner, with washer/dryer and dishwasher, where you can rustle up tasty home-cooked meals ready to enjoy at the dining table for six. After dinner, retire to the sitting room where you can relax in front of a much-loved film on the TV, as your pooch snuggles up in front of the crackling woodburning stove. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you can wash away the day with a soothing soak in the bath, or freshen up with a hot shower, before choosing from one of three beautifully presented bedrooms, two doubles, one with exposed beams and the other with views of the fells, and a bunk room. For your local amenities, head into Reeth, where you can dine at the welcoming pubs and restaurants, including the 18th-century Buck, The Black Bull and the Kings Arms, perfect for refuelling after a day of exploring. Within the village, you can also tour the Swaledale Museum, the Reeth National Park Visitor Centre, or indulge in a sweet treat at the Reeth Ice Cream Parlour and The Copper Kettle Kitchen. Keen cyclists will delight at the excellent cycling opportunities on offer, with the Dales Bike Centre right on your doorstep, where you can hire bikes and take on a wealth of scenic trails, including the 12-mile Swale Trail. Make the drive over to the bustling market town of Richmond, where you will find the attraction of Friary Gardens, the remarkable Richmond Castle, the stunning River Swale Waterfalls, the Georgian Theatre Royal and The Green Howards Museum. Further afield, you will find Barnard Castle, home to its own impressive castle of the same name, along with the wildlife rich Deepdale Nature Reserve, The Bowes Museum and the excellent Barnard Castle Golf Club. Enjoy a memorable escape to the Dales with a stay at A D Coach House.

Reeth sits in the northern extremity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, tucked between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge, and Harkerside, and is a popular tourist destination. Reeth, an area of outstanding natural beauty with undulating hills and breathtaking views, has a rich history that includes Saxon settlement, lead mining town, and centre of hand knitting. The Swaledale Museum, which is nestled among a variety of retail establishments, tea houses, and restaurants, honours both professions. Three traditional inns are available in Reeth, including the charming Buck Hotel, whitewashed like many of the 18th century cottages packed around the village green. Richmond and Leyburn, both historic market towns, are both nearby and both offer a wide range of attractions. Askrigg, Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, and Hardraw Force (England's highest single-drop waterfall at 99ft) are all within a few minutes' drive of each other. As a starting point, Reeth is a great place to explore North Yorkshire's magnificent and varied scenery, whether you'd prefer to explore the caves and cliffs, waterfalls, or the numerous walking and cycling trails that crisscross this vibrant and diverse landscape.

Everything was well set up for a comfortable stay in a great location. We have been before a number of times and there is a reason why we keep coming back. Just perfect, too, for our canine companion.

Barely room to move. Manageable for a weekend, but not great for anything longer. 1 loo roll for 6 people is a bit mean.

  • Susan

We love the location , very peaceful and relaxing.
