A delightful 18th century detached farmhouse, with superb country views, in a quiet location just 1 mile from the village of Downholme and 4 miles from Leyburn in the heart of Swaledale. Full of character and charm, this Richmond cottage has an attractive sitting room with a cosy open fire, a delightful snug also with an open fire, a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen, three bedrooms and a wonderful location in the beautiful Swaledale countryside. Ideal for families and groups of friends to get together, the large lawned garden at this Richmond cottage is ideal for a family barbecue and plenty of family fun.
The surrounding countryside boasts an array of many lovely walks and this beautiful dale is characterised by the market towns of Richmond, Hawes, Leyburn and Masham, surrounded by lovely undulating hills. There is so much to do at this Richmond cottage, from the walks and cycle trails of the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the quaint villages and market towns. A lovely Richmond cottage whatever the time of year!
The town of Leyburn has beautiful views across the Dales. The town has many craft shops, galleries and tearooms and there are many walks in the area.

Due to the lack of maintenance of the property I have to mark poor in some areas. Some of the issues I read before booking still not resolved as I have talked to sykes customer service just before confirming the booking and assured issues been fixed but itâs not. Main issues are the shower at both bathrooms, the one at upstairs had issues (leaking hot water tap as itâs not mixing with cold water and you hardly get warm water to shower). All 7 of us using the ground floor one but the power shower also not working at the last day of our stay. But overall the cottage is very nice if all the issues fixed it will be a dream destination for holidays. The owner is responsive but the issues canât be solved instantly but needs to be addressed. Kids loved the cottage, had a great time. Plenty of rooms and lawned area at the front canât be better. Overall if the ongoing issues fixed I will be happy to back the property again.

Ideal for families with lots of room in the house and a big garden with superb views across the Dales. The owner was very friendly and helpful. It is very secluded but is a good base for visiting other places in the Dales. There is a pub a mile up the road which does an excellent Sunday lunch and the pub gardens overlook stunning views.
