Guests say

Wood View offers a cosy, spotless, and well-equipped retreat in a tranquil countryside setting near Scarborough. Guests consistently praise its peaceful location, proximity to scenic walks and attractions, and the dog-friendly paddock. The accommodation is comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, with many appreciating the welcome basket and helpful hosts. The nearby pub is a highlight for food and atmosphere. While a few minor issues were noted, such as sofa firmness and occasional confusion over amenities, the overwhelming feedback is highly positive, making this an excellent choice for a relaxing break.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the accommodation as immaculate, spotless, and very clean. Only one review mentioned a minor issue with sand accumulation, but this was attributed to guests' activities rather than the property itself.

The location is widely praised for its peacefulness, beautiful countryside, and easy access to Scarborough, Whitby, and local walks. The proximity to a friendly pub and scenic spots is a recurring positive theme.

Guests generally find the property cosy, warm, and comfortable, with efficient heating and thoughtful touches. A few mentioned the sofa being a bit firm, but this was a minor point among otherwise glowing feedback.

Facilities are described as excellent, with well-equipped kitchens, smart TVs, and a secure paddock for dogs. Some guests noted the presence of a toaster and air fryer, though a couple wished these had been listed in advance. Maintenance is not raised as an issue.

Many guests appreciated the welcome basket and helpful communication from the hosts. It should be noted that while gifts such as welcome baskets are mentioned, these are not guaranteed for every stay.

Enclosed paddock wasn’t enclosed - dog got out. List of amenities in cottage was limited so didn’t take food that could be cooked - then later found a toaster and air fryer which was disappointing - these should have been listed on the website advert. Welcome basket was appreciated but no milk - had to drive to nearest garage for this - when travelling a distant in heavy traffic a cup of tea is all that’s required! Sofa in the room was very hard and felt like you were sitting in the frame. Disappointing stay considering the cost.
