Guests say

Gunpowder House is a spacious, well-equipped cottage set in a tranquil rural location with beautiful views and extensive gardens. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, peaceful setting, and proximity to both countryside walks and the coast. The property is ideal for families, walkers, and dog owners, with a games room and ample parking. While some mention minor maintenance needs and the lack of a local pub, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests returning for repeat stays.

Multiple reviews highlight the property as spotlessly clean and well maintained, with no significant complaints about cleanliness.

The cottage's peaceful rural setting, beautiful views, and convenient access to Whitby and local attractions are frequently praised. Some mention the need for a car, but this is not seen as a major drawback.

Guests find the house comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with comfortable beds and a relaxing atmosphere. A few mention the sofa could be improved, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The property is described as well equipped, with a games room, large garden, and quality appliances. Minor suggestions for modernisation and maintenance (e.g., pans, sofa, small repairs) are noted but do not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests appreciated the welcome pack or hamper, and responsive owners are mentioned. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.
