Guests say

Idagale offers spacious accommodation in a fantastic central Whitby location, making it ideal for exploring the town on foot. Guests appreciate the homely feel, comfortable beds, and value for money. While the property is clean and well-equipped for basic stays, several reviews note that the decor and facilities are dated and in need of some maintenance. The house is generally quiet and peaceful, but some guests mention minor issues such as limited bathroom facilities and mismatched crockery. Overall, it is a practical choice for budget-conscious travellers seeking a convenient base.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, though some mentioned the need for a deeper clean, particularly in the bathroom and communal areas.

The location is highly praised, being central, quiet, and close to all amenities, with easy access to parking and Whitby’s attractions.

Guests generally found the beds comfortable and the house warm, but some noted discomfort in the lounge and issues with dated furnishings.

Facilities are adequate for a basic stay, with a well-equipped kitchen and spacious rooms, but several reviews highlight the need for updates and maintenance, especially in the kitchen and bathroom.

Towels were provided for some guests, but essentials like bin bags, loo roll, and recycling bins were sometimes lacking. Please note that any gifts or extras mentioned are not guaranteed.

Igadale is perfectly positioned to enjoy Whitby being so close to the centre but in a very quiet street. The property is spacious with large communal areas (lounge and kitchen) but as previous reviews state, could do with some updating. That said, for the price paid, this is an absolute bargain and we would definitely return for a long weekend break to recharge the batteries.

The cottage is in an excellent location. However, this is let down by the poor standard of the kitchen and bathroom facilities in particular. The bedrooms were clean and okay but the lounge was also uncomfortable forcing us to spend time out and not able to relax at the property. Serious work needed to bring this to a decent standard in our view.

A very tired and run-down house. Looks like it's been rented out for a while with little to no maintenance. The roof leaks into the upstairs bedroom when it rains, there wasn't enough loo roll for the amount of guests staying and drinks glasses and crockery were mismatched and in short supply.
