Holly Cottage is a quaint and cosy property set in a peaceful, rural location, ideal for those seeking tranquility and a secure garden for pets. Guests appreciate the homely feel, the secure outdoor spaces, and the proximity to local attractions. While some guests encountered issues with cleanliness and maintenance, others were pleased with the comfort and equipment provided, and a few enjoyed thoughtful touches like wine and flowers.
Cleanliness has been a concern for some guests, with reports of cobwebs, dirty windows, and crumbs on the floor. However, others have found the property spotless, indicating inconsistency in cleaning standards.
The location is highly praised for its quiet, countryside setting with secure gardens for dogs, and proximity to beaches and Whitby. It's ideal for guests looking for a peaceful retreat close to local attractions.
The cottage is generally found to be comfortable and cosy, especially with the open fire. Some guests found the bedrooms compact, and the central heating system outdated, but overall the property provided a homely stay.
Facilities are well-received with a well-equipped kitchen and secure gardens. However, some guests noted the absence of a washing machine and minor maintenance issues outdoors. The presence of a dishwasher instead of a washing machine was noted by several guests.
While some guests mentioned receiving gifts such as wine, milk, and flowers, these gestures are not consistently reported across reviews. As such, it is polite to note that such thoughtful touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Plenty of coal for the fire, it was needed in February!. All 3 gardens were enclosed, ideal for small pets. Unfortunately due to the weather and mud, our little dog did not have the pleasure of a runaround in them. Plenty of local walks. The cottage was ideally situated for main towns in the area. Kate was friendly and helpful. Thank you

The large bed takes up the whole room leaving little room to move to the door. The door opens outwards almost to the top of the stairs, I believe it to be an accident hazard. Although the kitchen has plenty of pottery and implements there is no room left for food. The gardens are neglected and overgrown. The heating system requires a complete overhaul.
