Rose and Crown Yard in Whitby receives glowing praise for its central yet peaceful location, charming nautical décor, and immaculate presentation. Guests consistently highlight the cottage’s comfort, well-equipped kitchen, and thoughtful touches from the owners. The property is described as a perfect base for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area, with many guests eager to return. While parking and some minor maintenance issues are occasionally mentioned, the overwhelmingly positive feedback focuses on the welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and attention to detail, making it a highly recommended choice for families, couples, and pet owners alike.

Cleanliness is repeatedly praised, with guests describing the cottage as spotless, immaculate, and very well maintained. Only one or two minor comments mention maintenance issues, but these are rare and do not detract from the overall impression.

The location is universally celebrated, with guests loving the central position in Whitby, proximity to amenities, and peaceful setting despite being in the heart of town. The cottage’s views, especially of Whitby Abbey, are also frequently mentioned as a highlight.

Guests find the cottage extremely comfortable, noting cosy beds, a homely atmosphere, and relaxing décor. A few guests mention the attic bedroom’s low ceiling and a bed being a bit short for taller guests, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

The cottage is described as well-equipped, with everything needed for a short or long stay. Some minor feedback includes a shortage of cooking dishes and toilet paper, and a couple of comments about the boiler, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.

Many guests appreciate the welcome packs, treats for both humans and dogs, and excellent communication from the owners. While these thoughtful touches are frequently mentioned, please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Beautiful cottage and everything you could possibly need. In a perfect location to explore Whitby and free parking a short walk away. The hosts were incredibly helpful sending details and checking in with us. Would highly recommend for a weekend break or longer.

The cottage is located in a quiet yard just a couple of minutes walk from the harbour. We thought the cottage is one of the best we have stayed in. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipped, comfortable and felt very homely. It is a perfect base from which to explore Whitby and the surrounding area. Perfect!
