Guests say

The Salty Fox in Whitby is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its excellent location, comfort, and suitability for families and pets. Guests appreciate the property's character, spaciousness, and the provision of amenities, which contribute to a homely feel. While parking is noted as a challenge, the proximity to local attractions is a significant plus. The house's cleanliness and maintenance received mixed feedback, with some guests suggesting improvements.

Cleanliness scores are varied, with several guests finding the property to be tidy and well-presented, while others noted areas needing deeper cleaning. Comments about unclean kitchenware and the need for a thorough clean suggest room for improvement, but overall, the property seems to maintain a satisfactory level of cleanliness.

The location of the property is highly praised for its proximity to the town centre, harbour, and local attractions. Despite the parking difficulties mentioned by some guests, the convenience of the location outweighs these concerns, making it an ideal spot for exploring Whitby and the surrounding areas.

Guests frequently compliment the comfort of the Salty Fox, highlighting the comfortable beds and the spaciousness of the house. The property is considered suitable for large families and provides a cosy atmosphere, particularly with seasonal decorations during festive periods.

The facilities at the Salty Fox generally meet guests' expectations, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample amenities for a pleasant stay. However, some guests mentioned missing items or maintenance issues, such as a broken cafetière and the need for additional bathroom facilities, which slightly detract from the overall experience.

The property's thoughtfulness is reflected in the provision of complimentary toiletries and the occasional mention of a welcome hamper. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such offerings are subject to availability and not guaranteed for every stay.

Beds in top floor really uncomfortable but still a great room. When we opened the fridge it was really smelly and we had to deep clean it to get rid of the smell. BUT a really nice place to stay, just a clean and refresh.

There were a couple of problems on arrival in the kitchen, but we sorted that. The only other issue is car parking which can be difficult in busy periods. Due to 4 floors being used it is more suitable for younger families.

A beautiful house with loads of character & great facilities. Not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems as it's set over 4 floors with many flights of stairs
