Stonewall Cottage is highly praised for its cosy charm, ideal location near the beach, and thoughtful touches such as a welcome pack. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, the wood burner, and the pet-friendly environment. While parking and some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is very positive, with many guests planning to return.
The cottage is generally described as very clean and well furnished. One mention of cobwebs and a stale loaf suggests a slight inconsistency, but overall, guests seem satisfied with the cleanliness.
The location is frequently highlighted as fantastic, right next to the beach and local amenities. Parking challenges are noted, but do not significantly detract from the positive location reviews.
Comfort is well-regarded with a cosy atmosphere and a wood burner. However, some guests mention issues with bed comfort and the desire for curtains for privacy, suggesting room for improvement.
Facilities are generally good, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and a nice shower room. However, comments about the lack of a toaster, microwave, and some maintenance issues lead to a slightly lower score.
Guests often mention a welcome pack, which adds a thoughtful touch to their stay. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every visit.
Positioned in the village of Sandsend on the North Yorkshire Coastline, is this pretty cottage, Stonewall Cottage. This two-bedroom cottage is the perfect place for a family getaway. It's got a contemporary interior and a woodburning stove for those snug evenings inside and is also near to the beach. Leave your vehicle on the roadside and discover the front patio garden, which offers furniture and a barbecue for an alfresco affair in the sun. The living/dining room is a perfect space for hosting guests, with a sitting area and plush sofas, a smart TV, and a dining area to enjoy mealtimes together. Stepping through the property, the kitchen is well-equipped with essential appliances, including an electric oven and hob and a fridge. After a day filled with fun, you can refresh in the ground-floor wet room with a rinse under the shower as your towels keep toasty on the heated rail. When sleep calls, venture upstairs to choose between two bedrooms, with a delightful double with tasteful furniture and a bunk bedroom with individual reading lights and charging stations. Just moments away is the golden sands of Sandsend Beach; here you can fly a kite or unwind on a towel with a book and to refuel, there is The Hart Inn for a pint and hearty pub fayre. Visit Whitby, a historic town with plenty of things to see and do. The most popular attractions are Whitby Abbey, the 199 Steps, and Whitby Museum. There is also plenty of shopping, dining, and nightlife to enjoy. Robin Hood's Bay is a charming coastal town in North Yorkshire, England. The National Trust Coastal Centre is a must-see attraction in Robin Hood's Bay, as is Old St Stephen's Church. For a memorable getaway with your loved ones, secure a stay at Stonewall Cottage.
Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place offering something for everyone!

The tap in the kitchen sink had a nasty drip which was no problem to us but it would help to ramp up the water bill. The cooker appeared to be quite greasy. Had to remove some leafuelves and sludge from the drains outside because it was flooding slightly. More than an adiquate supply of fuel and found the cottage warm and cosy with a perfect aspect..THANKYOU
Kerstin
The firewood was not provided. Parking was a bit tricky, especially on busy weekends no space near without having to pay. Very near to the beach although dogs are not allowed until a bit further.
