Brookshaw Cottage is a Stone built end of terrace property dating back to 1890 and is located just outside the historic city of York. Set over two floors you enter the property into the delightful living room which offers comfortable sofas and a Smart TV giving you a perfect area to relax in.
On the same floor you have a well-equipped kitchen/dining room should you not wish to dine out in the many restaurants and pubs close by. Also, on the ground floor there is the lovely family bathroom which presents a shower over the bath. On the first floor you have two good sized bedrooms, one with a plush double bed and the other with twin beds, both guaranteeing a great night’s sleep ensuring you are ready for the day ahead. To the rear of the property, you have a lovely private patio area which is ideal to have a glass of fizz al fresco style in the warm summer months. Stylish decoration throughout you will find a cosy and peaceful retreat to come back to after a day exploring what this truly perfect city has to offer.
Brookshaw Cottage is just a 15-minute walk from York city centre which is the one of the most visited cities outside of London and is popular throughout the whole year with numerous festivals and magical Christmas markets. The property is perfectly situated for easy access to the racecourse and you have many attractions within walking distance from the property including the iconic Minster, Railway Museum and Clifford’s Tower; admire the beautiful architecture at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, step back in time at the Jorvik Centre and the Castle Museum. Stroll along the cobbles down the world-famous Shambles or take one of the terrifying night-time ghost walks which are a must. This vibrant city is bursting at the seams with delightful restaurants, traditional inns serving real ales and a wide choice of teashops including the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms.

Cottage was very tidy and clean, local cafe/takeaways within walking distance, would recommend Mrs Greedy's cafe and the local Indian for a sit down meals both very nice and reasonable priced. There is no freezer in the cottage just a fridge, if you wanted to stay for longer than a weekend you would not be able to buy frozen products - Heron Foods/Sainsburys local 5 min walk away. Steep stairs did get used to them. 1 single bed was uncomfortable, every time you moved its made a noise - did let the owner know. Sofa could have been bigger - over all it did us for the weekend. Staying longer would have found it difficult. There was not really a welcome basket either, bottle of wine/milk and a couple of broken biscuits. T-bags/little coffee sachets. 15-20 walk into town, local bus service stops within walking distance. TV was view by Aps, not 'live' TV - did us for the weekend.

It's a lovely little cottage with enough amenities and space for upto 4 people. Clean and tidy in a quiet neighbourhood. Host was responsive and had put together a little welcome basket. The stay was pleasant. Only things to look out for would be to carry toiletries, kitchen consumables and that it's a 30 min walk to the city centre. Overall a great place to explore around York.

York The position, easy acces to the city. Car parking when needed was a gamble but always found a spot close by. Steep narrow stairs. No grab rail in the bath/shower, no freezer, quite chilly, central heating on only for a short period.
