Overly modern, lacking a cosiness feel. Very Spacious, reasonably well equipped, but lacked some small essentials like a dishcloth and more importantly anti-slip shower mats. TV in huge lounge is too small, no radio. Beds were large and comfortable but we found the low sofa for us older clients less comfortable to relax in.The trains stopped literally the other side of the garden fence which is very useful for access to York in a just a few minutes although a week of hearing diesels coming and going every 15-30 mins from early morning to late at night was enough for us country dwellers. The property was spotlessly clean on arrival and on our last day we met the owners who were a very nice couple.

Another lovely stay in Carriage House. We love the house and being able to hop on the train into York is just the icing on the cake. We'll be back again for sure

Overall a good stay. Good location. Nice to have the station right next door, we managed to enjoy many days out easily. Quite comfortable, would have benefitted from a couple of double sofas and not just a corner style one given we were a party of 4 for much of the time. There was not enough crockery or toilet tissue and only 2 bin bags supplied, we had to use carrier bags for some waste. The tumble dryer was inactive for a good few days and I did query this with a lady who came to clean and it was suggested that I could have sorted it. Not our problem and not really appropriate to be fiddling with someone else’s electrical appliances, particularly for safety reasons. It was a fairly peaceful stay, didn’t notice the trains that much but we didn’t mind them anyway. Nice outlook, very spacious property.
