Guests say

The Townhouse in York is highly praised for its prime location, well-equipped kitchen, and overall comfort. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, cosy decor, and the convenience of having a TV in every main room. Despite minor issues with parking and stairs, the house's central yet peaceful setting makes it an ideal base for exploring the city. The thoughtful touches by the owners contribute to a welcoming stay.

Guests generally report that The Townhouse is very clean, with only a few minor observations about dust under furniture. The overall high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the guest experience.

The location is consistently lauded as perfect, being central and within walking distance to York's main attractions. It's described as peaceful despite its proximity to the city centre, making it an ideal spot for visitors.

The property is praised for its comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere. However, some guests noted that the seating in the living area was not ideal for taller individuals, and the presence of multiple stairs may not suit everyone.

Facilities are generally excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and modern appliances. Some guests mentioned minor issues such as a loose kitchen tap and the need for clearer instructions for Wi-Fi and heating, but these do not detract significantly from the overall high quality of the facilities.

While guests have mentioned personal touches and thoughtful details, there is no specific mention of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed if gifts are provided, and they should not be expected with every stay.

It's quiet but right next to the Minister. There's loads of lovely restaurant, cafes and bars minutes away. The beds are comfortable and the bedding and towels were clean. The house had original sash windows so without the heating on it quickly got cold, but the heating worked quickly and soon heated it up. The little courtyard area out the back was nice. The kitchen is well equipt and large. Overall this is a lovely place, but it needs some touching up of paintwork and the shower tray is showing a bit mould. It really should be clear in the listing that there is only parking for one car, as we had two and it was really expensive to park it while we were there. The one recommended was £20 per day. This adds quite a bit to an already pretty expensive stay. One more little thing that's worth mentioning is that the handles are round and very smooth and because of their positioning they can be hard to grip easily. I had to be rescued from the toilet a couple of times because I could open the door. Lovely handles, but not the most practical. I just stopped closing the door properly .... Overall a really great central but quiet location and nice comfortable beds and sofas.

The kitchen is very well equipped with a modern dishwasher and washer/dryer. The caretaker is especially helpful, local and a text message away which gave our stay a 'looked after' feel. Only minor criticism is that, being a townhouse it has a lot of steps, though this was described well in the description. One of the very best holiday houses I have every stayed in. Would definitely recommend.
