Great location, nice and quiet, with plenty to do nearby. We'll equipped.

We had a lovely extended family holiday at the barn. The positives were the size, location and facilities. There were six people and so plenty of room. It was quiet and plenty of outdoor space and parking. However, I feel the accommodation could have been better equipped. The kitchen was lacking in equipment for the size. Extra large spoons and serving dishes would have been good. The games in the big chest of drawers were useful but there were broken items which ought to have been removed. We also only found the welcome folder on the penultimate day (at bottom of one of drawers) and feel this should have been left out on the side as it contained information we needed. Also the TV did not work properly and took a while to get used to. Overall, we had a good stay, but there were little niggles that made it not as good as it could have been.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Wandale Barn during May half term. The barn itself was surprisingly large so plenty of space for the 5 of us and the dog. You can tell that the Barn had been converted to a very high standard, but does require a little bit of TLC to really elevate it. We thought the location was perfect, the barn is surrounded by wheat fields, great for nice walks with the dog. Its also a 15 mins walk into Slingsby, a lovely village with a great pub. We went to Whitby, Scarborough, York, Bridlington and Beverley races, all are within an hours commute from the barn. We also went to Castle Howard which is less than 10 mins drive. Helmsley is only 15 mins away and is a good place to visit for evening meals. We had an issue getting the TV to work (dodgy HDMI lead) called the owner and he was there in 20 mins to help out.
