Really lovely location. Lovely property. Host was most welcoming on arrival. Living room area was massive, had a great sized TV, with loads of comfortable seating and was great for a relaxing evening. Bedrooms were a good size too, in particular the main en suite room was big, plenty of space for hanging clothes, or putting things in drawers and a really big shower room. We would love to go back, as Alford and the surrounding location was great, for things to do, cycling, dog walking etc…We have no kids but it would be a great area for families, with the nearby country park which was so clean, tidy and well layed out with play areas, the heritage railway which we went was fun, and so on. We also stopped off at the golf club on the way back from a bike ride and they were very friendly and happy for us to stop for a drink. Lovely club, with great views up the fairway. The local pub / hotel was great too, we spent a lovely hour or two on the Saturday afternoon in the beer garden. Special mention to the indian takeaway, we had 5 different curries between 5 people and everyone was delighted. Sadly we had to depart earlier than expected so missed out on visiting more of what Alford had to offer, but for a small village it really has an amazing amount of things, a transport museum, vintage coach museum and a heritage museum plus those mentioned above. All in, the property has so much to offer both in itself, peaceful, spacious, safe place to store bikes, and so much to see and do close by.

Absolutely excellent from start to finish, the house is gorgeous and tucked away from the town, the driveway is almost a mile long. Douglas was informative and always helpful, the surrounding area is so beautiful, lovely part of the world...10/10

We enjoyed the cottage so much we have booked to come back next year. It enjoys a quiet countryside location with excellent facilities at Alford nearby.
