Guests say

Ernambrie Cottage receives high praise for its peaceful rural setting, beautiful countryside views, and friendly, helpful hosts. Guests consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, comfort, and well-equipped nature, making it an ideal base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The garden and abundant birdlife are frequently highlighted, and many guests appreciate the opportunity to disconnect from technology. While some note the interior is a little dated and there are minor areas for improvement, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to return.

Multiple reviews describe the cottage as spotlessly clean, tidy, and well looked after. Only one review mentions a faint smell in the main bedroom, but this is outweighed by the consistently positive feedback.

The location is repeatedly praised for its beautiful countryside, peacefulness, and proximity to Castle Douglas and local attractions. Guests appreciate the balance of seclusion and accessibility.

Guests find the cottage warm, cosy, and comfortable, with spacious rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. A few mention the decor is dated or comfort is a bit sparse in places, but most are very satisfied.

The cottage is described as well equipped, with everything needed for a pleasant stay. The garden and bird feeders are appreciated, and the heating is noted as effective. Some mention the interior could be modernised, but this is reflected in the value.

Hosts are frequently described as friendly, helpful, and considerate. A welcome pack is mentioned in one review, but as gifts are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

It was a good experience and we were met by the owner who was helpful. Her husband chatted to us that evening when he came back and subsequently when we were out in the lovely garden. We visited as many places as we could in the short time we were there,
