The River Nith runs through the town with attractive and peaceful walks and public parks.
The cottage is a new conversion from a former coach house and provides a luxurious holiday base fully equipped for quiet nights in after a day of exploring or if you would rather then there are many restaurants, Inns and other food outlets nearby.
Dumfries is well-placed to enjoy all kinds of opportunities for wildlife-watching, walking and hill-walking, visiting gardens and exploring castles and abbeys. There is a wide variety of locations to experience, including forests and coastal areas.

This was our 2nd visit to Laurieknowe Coach House and it is a firm favourite. Beautiful inside and out, it’s a haven of peace. Comfortably furnished, spacious and close to the town centre, it has everything you need. The owners, Alec and Linda are friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a visit to the Coach House.
