The holiday property is located on the edge of Ecclefechan village, just minutes from the M74 motorway and the world famous Gretna Green. It is the ideal location for friends and family to meet together from far and wide to enjoy a weekend or even a wedding!
Ecclefechan is a small village, yet its most enduring claim to fame is being the birthplace of Thomas Carlyle, the poet and author, born in 1795. The cottage that he lived in as a child now houses a recreation of an 1800s cottage and is run as a museum by the National Trust for Scotland, which lends a feel to the village that it has been left behind by history. Ecclefechan is perhaps more famous for the Ecclefechan Tart – a taste not to be missed! Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 20 yards.

What an amazing house. Lots of space and a lovely garden for the dog. The house has everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The house was 20 yards away from the Cresfield Hotel. The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly. Loved our stay there and will be back.
