Location is perfect along a very quiet (and narrow) well surfaced private lane. The view taking in the Estuary is outstanding. The mature garden surrounding the property proved to be very dog friendly and there is the added bonus of a further garden area situated across the lane and ending at the Estuary shore. The cottage is well equipped , comfortable and very peaceful and not overlooked. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

Caluna cottage is well equipped, cosy and comfortable. The views are lovely and there is plenty to do. We walked along some of the coastal path, visited Crawick multiverse, the Devils Porridge, Dumfries house and the deer park. All fabulous places.

Was pleasantly surprised by Calluna Cottage. The photos on the website don't do it justice. The inside is clean, very comfortable, and lots of choices of where to sit and very comfortable sofas. The bed was also great. Very well stocked with everything you need for a holiday, plus some. I like to cook and usually have to make do with pans, utensils etc, but the owners have thought of everything. The garden over the road is perfect, and right on the shore, sadly we didn't get very good weather so couldn't take full advantage. The area is beautiful, stunning cliff walks and a more gentle stroll through woods to the next village of Kippford where there is a choice of 2 dog friendly pubs for bar meals and also a cafe. (Check opening times of all 3 as think some close in winter) Only minor issue is the shower downstairs quickly runs cold (we didnt use the upstairs one), so fine for a quick morning wash but got a bit chilly when washing my hair ! But as I said, a minor point in an otherwise great cottage. Will hopefully be back
